RICHMOND, Va. -- Crowds -- including people in dog suits and protesters -- are already starting to gather outside the Federal Courthouse in Virginia.
They are there for the bond and arraignment hearing for Atlanta Falcons star Michael Vick, who faces dog fighting charges.
Protesters are on one side of the street and spectators are already lining up to go inside. Just like on the football field, Vick has his supporters and detractors out there.
Vick is sick. Vick is sick and not in a cool way, said one protester.

The don’t have to pay him for the games they suspend him. But the maximum a team can suspend a player for is 4 games, they could then chose to not put him on the field but they’d still have to pay him. It’s the same kind of thing the Bucs did with Keyshawn and the Eagles did with TO, they suspended them as long as they could then just paid them to stay home.
In Dec. ‘04 Vick signed a 10-year contract worth $130 million with a $37 million signing bonus, making him the highest paid player in NFL history at the time and one of the highest paid ever in sports.
And that is exactly why the feds took over. The DA (equivalant) of the county (I believe Surry) Poindexter was refusing to act on a court-approved warrant because "he didn't like the way it was written." He said he was going slow to make sure he was careful because he lost a similar case a few years ago by making illegal searches. Yeah...this Poindexter goofball thinks that he and his crack staff should alone run a multi-state dog fighting case "slowly" because he screwd up a similar case. Righto.
Thank God the Feds jumped in and took away this case. Vick will now surely flip, nail alot of bad guys, maybe avoid jail and lose his athletic career.
A good point. Of all the folks who are ready to fry Vick, how many have hired the Orkin man?
I cannot a company would stand by a person so sadistic.
I know that I am probably off Nike for good.
At a young age, I was taught you are who you associate with. This goes for corporations too.
Vick had his lawyer read his statement of “innocence”. My guess is that he would have had a tough time getting through it himself.
And not one mention of dead dogs in that statement.
He is not sorry dogs were brutally killed. He is sorry he got CAUGHT.
There is no defense for this "sport." For some to compare Vick to the Duke Lacrosse players is demented. In Duke case, there was no evidence of even a crime. Here are numerous witnesses, rape stands, etc. Dead dogs were found. No way could one visit that place and not realize what was going on.
In every one of his statements, he simply says he is sorry he caused trouble. Never a word about the dogs. IOW, he does not care about his viscious actions.
We have dominion over nothing.
The only way Vick could get a more violent crowd of lunatics protesting him is if he called someone a faggott, which would be considered much more evil than fighting dogs - just ask John Rocker.
“Animals are true to their creation. Human beings are not.
We have dominion over nothing.”
So once again, the Bible is wrong? Golly!
Again, why not wait until all the evidence is in. Do you really believe that everyone that is indicted is guilty? I'm not saying that Vick will be cleared, but why not let the process work itself out before getting all reactionary.
You are falling for the old liberal slogan of "it's not the quality of the evidence but the seriousness of the charge that matters".
I am applying your logic. In your post that I responded to, you equated humans and dogs because they are both animals. If you use that logic, then dogs and insects are also equivalent since they are also both animals.
I know this is an emotional topic for some and it brings out the reactionary nature in a lot of people, but you can't have it both ways.
Nonsense.
He is NOT rotting in jail. Vick is getting his due process and “Innocent until proven guilty” presumption by the government.
This does NOT mean I must also look at all of the facts so far and give him the same presumption.
He is guilty as sin, and should be locked away as a sociopath.
>He is not sorry dogs were brutally killed. He is sorry he got CAUGHT.<
Why would you think there would be a shred of remorse in that statement? To dogfighters, animals are just tools, to enhance the street cred (whatever the heck that is) of the owner. You don’t express sorrow if you destroy an object in the process of using it.
These individuals do not think like the majority of pet owning people, and the more I read, the less I think such people could ever understand the relationship the rest of us have with companion animals.
