President Bush yesterday said Americans will soon realize they need the immigrants and foreign temporary workers that would have been allowed by his immigration bill, which was defeated in the Senate last month.
Mr. Bush, in a town hall session in Nashville, Tenn., also refused to say whether he will pardon two U.S. Border Patrol agents convicted of shooting a fleeing drug-smuggling suspect, saying the prosecutor was a friend of his who made his case to the jury that convicted the agents.
If Mr. Bush was hoping the immigration issue would disappear after his bill's failure, those hopes were dashed, as he was asked repeatedly about border security during the forum meant to highlight his commitment to cutting the deficit.
"The bill failed and I can't make a prediction to you at this point, sir, where it's going to head," the president told one questioner. "I can make you a prediction, though, that pretty shortly people are going to be knocking on people's doors saying, man, we're running out of workers."
Mr. Bush said there are workers who will do jobs Americans aren't doing in the agriculture sector in particular, and without them the jobs will go unfilled.

Very likely but I've zero interest in the wideawakes...especially if this 'patriot' is typical of their style.
And 'slink around here' says it right.
You see it as name-calling because you want to believe in your cause. Others, like me, see you as an advocate for the destruction of our culture, or economy, and our nation.
In your case this supposed “name-calling” is an accurate description, not a label.
You are partly right.
The average illegal family in the US consumes over $15,000 per year more in taxpayer-funded social services then they pay in income taxes. The average illegal in the US will COST the US taxpayers more than $1 Million in taxpayer-funded services and assistance throughout their lifetime...if we let them stay.
We taxpayers have all been raped. Obviously, some seem to enjoy it.
You're on the wrong side on this issue.
1) Our culture...whatever that means...will be just fine. There's 330 MILLION of us and 20 million of 'them'. Proportionately...lower than the immigration in the late 19th/early 20th centuries. It's 'normal' for immigrants to collect together. Ever heard of Chinatown or Little Italy in assorted cities across this great land?
2) Economy. If you think these immigrants are ruining our economy, then you've been in a coma the past 7 years. Can't help you there.
3) Nation. See #1. Also, they are a great replacement for the 40+ million aborted Americans lost to Roe v Wade.
Try again.
You're all paranoid.
Deport them all and prove us wrong. . .I dare you. :)
Did talk about impeachment of Reagan when he gave amnesty to illegals?
He’s right. We need workers, even immigrant workers.
What we DON’T need are illegal aliens.
Build the never-to-be-sufficienty-d@mned wall, Mr. President, and enforce the bloody law.
Do that and you’ll get your guest-worker program - maybe even an amnesty. But not before.
I bought me an alien in Roswell, New Mexico ten years ago. He works real cheep but not very well.
George W. Bush - Greatest Mexican President - EVER!............/sarc
I pinged y’all to some posts earlier.
Did you miss the pings or were they inconvenient?
BTTT!
I usually thank God, but whatever.
Dead give-away there. Anyone who dismisses "American culture" in that way is set to give it away.
I could give an entire talk here about our unmatched national park system - once the country's pride and joy - and studied as THE model for parks world-wide. Now many of the parks are crime-ridden and buried under human waste and drug needles and cartel bullets - from illegal aliens and no one else.
When the light is turned on the roaches scurry.
Maybe if we enter lower wattage posts like theirs they will answer us?
Like ......."Nuh-Uh!", "Make me!" and "I know you are but what am I?" (Okay, that last one may be too wordy). :^)
I could care less what you say anywhere else....be my guest.
Just seems to me you’d be more warmly recieved over there with your homeys these days but I’ve got no room to talk granted.
I’m still on supersecret better behave parole here myself.
Man, honestly, how in the heck did I ever vote for him?
