President Bush yesterday said Americans will soon realize they need the immigrants and foreign temporary workers that would have been allowed by his immigration bill, which was defeated in the Senate last month.
Mr. Bush, in a town hall session in Nashville, Tenn., also refused to say whether he will pardon two U.S. Border Patrol agents convicted of shooting a fleeing drug-smuggling suspect, saying the prosecutor was a friend of his who made his case to the jury that convicted the agents.
If Mr. Bush was hoping the immigration issue would disappear after his bill's failure, those hopes were dashed, as he was asked repeatedly about border security during the forum — meant to highlight his commitment to cutting the deficit.
"The bill failed and I can't make a prediction to you at this point, sir, where it's going to head," the president told one questioner. "I can make you a prediction, though, that pretty shortly people are going to be knocking on people's doors saying, man, we're running out of workers."
Mr. Bush said there are workers who will do jobs Americans aren't doing in the agriculture sector in particular, and without them the jobs will go unfilled.

Why do you repeatedly ignore the FACT that the government...despite the experience of 911...did not aggressively enforce immigration laws?
Those landscapers, painters, drywall men, ceramic/marble/granite, woodworkers...who cares if they're legal or not?
They pay rent. They buy food. They buy clothes. They buy cars. They buy washers and dryers and rent videos.
Why is that beyond your grasp? Why do you repeatedly wrap yourself in the flag and become indignant and call ME the enemy?

Here's a thought, let's ask Adrienne Shelley what she thinks about your ilk...wait, we can't...she was beaten to death by an illegal 'dry wall man' in her own building.
That's just one American murdered by your hard-working illegals. How many others are there? What number of dead is acceptable to you? Is ten enough? How about five hundred? Be specific. Show some guts, give us a number that is ok as long as you see the benefit.

Man flees after crash that killed his son, 9
Dad held; drunken driving is charged

SAN DIEGO – A father was arrested on suspicion of drunken driving early yesterday after fleeing from a freeway crash that killed his 9-year-old son, who was asleep in the front seat.
Alex Muñoz, a third grader at Linda Vista Elementary, died on impact in the 1:30 a.m. crash, authorities said. The boy's father, Marcos Muñoz Sanchez, 33, was driving the boy home west on Interstate 8 near Texas Street when he slammed into the back of a pickup parked on the shoulder, said the California Highway Patrol.
Muñoz Sanchez, who is in the country illegally and is not a licensed driver, got out and ran, leaving his son in the truck.
Salt of the earth.
Hundreds if not thousands of Americans have been assaulted, raped, killed by the illegal group you champion.
Show some guts. Address the crime by illegal issue. Tell us how many murdered or raped Americans you are willing to accept in exchange for cheap labor.
Your history is one of invective, insult and name-calling on these illegals threads. You posture as brighter than the masses of freepers.
But when challenged you act like a stray dog who leaves his pile then runs from the stink.

Illegals guilty of murder, rape and assault is no game. But it is an issue that you and your ilk will never face and let the poor victims be damned...unless it hits close to home.
