No, it could hardly have been. We might have been boiled just a tad faster, but the end result the same. Kerry, Bush Sr., Clinton, Gore, Bush Jr. - all marching to the same globalist tune and screwing the people along the way.
I don’t believe that we “CAN’T” survive without having illegal immigrants. In fact, I think the country would flourish if this problem was fixed. My question is regarding the manner in which this “fix” is accomplished. There would have to be a cohesive plan that everyone (nearly) agrees on. That agreement is going to be the most difficulty part of any immigration reform. Then you have to deal with the issue of those who are already here. I surmise that just rounding them up and deporting them will not work. There’s just too many complications to work out. There has to be some middle ground where all issues are addressed and the problem dealt with.
“Good luck getting our government to actually do this.”
Doing the right thing is seldom easy.
Some here seem to think that all that “we” need to do is round up these people enmass and deport them. I can see many problems with this thinking. I’m not sure why others cannot see those same problems.
I’m not sure who was originally asking for this. Here are two sites that track crime stats and data about illegal alien crime.

For some of our so-called leaders in Washington, doing the right thing only exists as far as they can get their reelection pockets lined.
Bush should study the industrial and economic growth the US experienced from the 1940s to the 1960s, and ask how it managed to happen during a period when immigration, legal and illegal, was at a very low ebb. The US can get by just fine without importing the world’s uneducated, unskilled and uncultured poor from lawless nations. Changing the face of America isn’t about saving it. It is about tearing down what is left, so the globalists can remake things to suit them. ...Watch out what you say about it though; Bush might just sign an executive order authorizing the confiscation of our property if we complain about his globalist dream.
There is a video with very enlightening visuals of the sheer immensity of the problem at Numbers USA. We have historically had manageable levels of immigration which allowed assimilation and was a glorious witness to the melting pot in action.
But unchecked invasion is destroying our country and the sooner that Bush and his ilk realize it, wake up and start fulfilling their oaths of office, the better all will be for it.
Well, that is reasonable enough. IF we the people - 70 - 80% of us in the usual survey (unless it’s been skewed to favor the globalist viewpoint) were the ones to fix the problem, we could get it done asap. It’s when the elitists start to reward the criminals that we have a problem.
That welfare check should be at the end of the crop row. Work, gain some dignity and the check is yours.
The fact is that the rapes and murders commited by illegals are all avoidable. The victims and their families would likely not agree with you that it is a non-issue.
Since you are vocally in favor of the illegals and since some of these illegals will murder and rape, I'll ask you again...
How many rapes by illegals is acceptable to you?
How many murders by illegals is acceptable to you?
At what point do you find the number too high and not worth the 'economic benefit'?
We had family friends who owned orchards or ranches. My siblings and I worked along side illegal immigrant farm labor during the summer. For more years than I can count now I’ve driven up and down I 5 in California pass many a farm field seeing migrant workers in those fields. That is still happening today. To think that migrant farm labor, legal or illegal, has not been around for very long is either naive or ignorant.
So how many businesses and industries are you willing to bankrupt to get rid of the Mexicans??
You guys sound like libs with your anti-business, minimum wage nonsense. Your hatred of Illegal Immigrants/Mexicans trumps all.

IOW, get rid of after they've raped and murdered...or do you have some special technique for looking at an individual and knowing that he will one day rape or kill.
The "need for Mexicans" comes from greedy employers who would rather sell out their fellow Americans by exploiting the poverty stricken who come here for a better life. The employers can pay the illegals far less (and no benefits)and don't care that the "savings" is passed on to all taxpayers in the form of public entitlements that go to support the illegals and their families.
If employers had to pay their workers a decent wage, their profits would go down, but the quality of life for all Americans would go up immeasurably.
And as for the illegals who would be forced to remain in their own country - how about all those "hardworking" people chip in and better their own lot rather than try to ruin ours?
If I can’t run a business without breaking the law then I don’t deserve to be in that business, nobody does. Success in business is not a right.
Who has bought and paid for this President??
Look. Unless you have a time machine, there is no way to change what has already occurred. Thus, those who have already committed these horrible crimes need to be held accountable and then deported. As I stated in my earlier post, we also need to secure the border so they cannot come back across (which should also imply that fixing the border results in a huge reduction of illegals coming across period). Nowhere in my post can you find any suggestion that we just allow criminals to come in and then deport them after they’ve committed their rapes and murders. Securing the border means securing the border, nothing short of securing the border.
They don’t Want to see the problems with rounding them up and herding them back to Mexico. Once you peel away all their lame arguments, you will find the real reason.
The real reason has nothing to do with jobs since they will not provide an alternative to Mexicans working in the farms where they are well skilled. No it has to do with something more basic and emotional.
