Cheaters Who Prosper (Villar Vs Newsom -Dem Adulterers For Governor In 2010 Alert)
Los Angeles Times ^ | 07/06/2007 | Los Angeles Times Editorial Board

This theory is by no means foolproof. San Francisco Mayor Gavin Newsom, a Democrat, remains popular despite an affair with his campaign manager's wife. Former Sen. Bob Packwood (R-Ore.) was unseated in the mid-'90s amid groping allegations that would make Schwarzenegger blush. But it may well be that Republicans are better at using their opponents' sexual peccadilloes against them, summoning up the moral outrage among voters that can be deadly in a close race. It also doesn't help roving-eyed Democrats that women are a mainstay of the party, and women don't appreciate men who cheat.

Villaraigosa, a Democrat who is widely believed to have his eye on the governor's desk in 2010, should keep all that in mind. Of course, none of it may matter if the political handicappers are correct: Villaraigosa's main competition in the gubernatorial race might well turn out to be none other than Newsom. Let he who is without sin sling the first mud.

Dem cheaters - we may see two of them in California's 2010 Democratic gubernatorial primary. Gavin Newsom and Antonio Villaraigosa. Two big city mayors. And both had torrid affairs. Do cheaters prosper? I report, you decide.

I can't follow the whole story, but it sounded like his wife found out they were getting divorced after the press release...

"Marital Problems" indeed.

Yeah and its funny to see them get up there and pose as role models of moral rectitude. That crowd wouldn't know the difference between right and wrong if it slapped them in the face!

It’s going to be interesting to see who is on that madam’s list now that the courts have given her permission to publish it. Any bets on whether the RATS or RINOS will have more names on it? LOL I can’t wait. Oh how I wish we’d catch some of the RINOS who fought us so hard on shamnesty! :o)

It also doesn't help roving-eyed Democrats that women are a mainstay of the party, and women don't appreciate men who cheat.

The LAT strings together some assertions that fit its biases, but that one is curious.

Many women I knew at the time of the Jones/perjury scandal, even one or two Republicans, had a fondness (or more) for Clinton. Then, of course, there were other women who loathed the man. But let's remember the public opinion polls during impeachment. It wasn't just men who sent his polling numbers skyward during the Jones/perjury scandal.

The women who go for the Clinton awh, shucks rogue type are the ones to avoid if you are thinking of marriage. It's been 10 years since the Jones/perjury scandal broke and a woman's view of Clinton (liking/loving/dreaming versus revulsion/anger) was a good predictor of how her personal life would proceed in the subsequent decade.

The problem is that Villaraigosa has painted himself as this gee-whiz, golden-hearted Latino-politician-just-trying-to-make-good family man. AFAIK, Giuliani, McCain and Newt didn’t play that game.

The RINOS musta been high on Viagra to push that loser of a bill.

Of course Teddy is on the list---he's gotta pay for it. No decent woman would bed down with him just for the privilege of watching him get a thrill.

This is Gavin----are you positively sure he likes girls?

MORE ON THE MAYOR:

Mayor: City would ignore (immigration) legislation if it were to pass
The Examiner | April 7, 2006 | Justin Jouvenal
SAN FRANCISCO - Mayor Gavin Newsom said Thursday that The City will not comply with any federal legislation that criminalizes efforts to help illegal immigrants. The mayor also denounced a bipartisan congressional proposal that would beef up border security and allow as many as 12 million illegal immigrants to gain legal status.

Newsom, who has not been afraid to wade into controversial national issues such as gay marriage, appeared with a group of elected officials on the steps of City Hall to support immigrants, “documented as well as undocumented. ”

Newsom also signed a resolution sponsored by Supervisor Gerardo Sandoval, and passed unanimously by the Board of Supervisors, urging San Francisco law enforcement not to comply with criminal provisions of any new immigration bill.

“San Francisco stands foursquare in strong opposition to the rhetoric coming out of Washington, D.C.,” Newsom said. “If people think we were defiant on the gay marriage issue, they haven’t seen defiance.”

They seem to appreciate Bill Clinton and they even love Hillary for standing by his side watching him get his ashes hauled.

The reason why Democrats' marital woes mean nothing in regards to the elections is, again, because the Democrat party base only cares that an elected Democrat continue delivering to them the taxpayer-financed gravy train. A murderer could run as a Democrat (and has!) and will win all of the Democrat vote because all the constituents care about are government-provided freebies.

To put it simply, Newsom and Tony (too lazy to spell his last name) could have a harem of men, women, animals and probably children, off a few of them in the process, and still coast to victory in their respective elections.

Liz, not sure why you posted Newsome's "ex" (she is babe-alicious) in reply to my cranky reply in this thread, but she is still not marriage material in my eyes. If I understand the Newsome embroglio, he was boinking a married woman, so if that is her, she is only fetching on the outside. And I bet her husband sees that all to clearly. Do you have any of Ms. Guilfoyle unwrapped? (Hey, it was worth a try.)

Let’s go over that again:

Kimberly Guilfoyle (pictured) was married to Newsom, and is the one he famously cheated on (not the one he cheated with).

Ah, “ex” as in “ex-spouse” not “ex” as in “ex-girlfriend” or “ex-lover.” All those “ex’s” get confusing for a simple guy such as myself. Thanks for “ex”plaining.

No problem-—glad to explain.

NOTE: I believe in the popular vernacular-—”ex” usually means ex-wife.

Oh yeah, all that is considered part of the "Latin machismo" ........a feather in his cap.

This guy Villaraigosa is VERY ambitious----has his sights set higher than the Cali governorship.

The takeover of our govt has already begun----Villaraigosa has been Northeast rounding up large blocs of Hispos for a WH run.

Small potatoes. We've got at least two Republican cheaters running for President.
