NEW YORK (CNN) -- Former Vice President Al Gore said he has "fallen out of love with politics" and has no intentions of running for office again.
When asked why he wouldn't run for president again -- when presumably a president could shape an agenda to fight global warming -- Gore said those in power must have the support of the people to make it work.
"The key players are the American people," he said. "When the American people have the awareness of what this means for their children, and for their grandchildren, that all of civilization is at risk here, then they will demand that whoever is running for office, whoever is elected to serve, will have to respond to this."
Despite Gore's stance, many grassroots movements, with Web sites such as AlGore.org and draftgore2008.org, are trying persuade him to run.
"Americans from every corner of our nation are calling on you," reads a petition on Draftgore.com. "Please listen to our plea and run for the Democratic nomination for the presidency of the United States in 2008." The petition has has nearly 100,000 signatures.

It seems like there cannot be a FR thread without a Moonbat showing up to post a “What if....” comment
“What if algore’s daughter did not show up in a luxury 400 horsepower foreign sportscar to pay algore #3’s $20,000 bail?”
Howzat?
Hey algore #2 !!!!
Howzat?
Ah, my leetle melting glacier of love, how much longer can you resist me? You say "non" now, but when we kees, you will be the moth to my flame.
Please give me one source that the base sat it out last year. There ain’t one because they didn’t. It was the swing voters that went the other way. FM
Jim, I bet if your sister got a tatoo, you’d touch it constant asking , does this hurt..........lmao
Lol devolve! Zat’s good!

the republicans voted in record numbers.The squishy middle either did not vote or voted for THEM
Hang on - based on historical cycles, the next ice age is scheduled to hit us hard anytime now. Call me back when the Hudson River is permanently frozen all year long.
Just anecdotal evidence, and everything else I heard on tv, and that I read in newspapers.
The American people have the awareness that you are full of *bleeeeep*. That you are a charlatan Global Warming atheist TV preacher making big money off the DUPED.
If that was not the case, you would be running like a rabbit for Pwesident.
I doubt my post went over your head. The wishes of elites are so disconnected from mainstream that billions of advertisisng (and public schooling) is used to dumb down the masses to swallow anything.
What’s the life span of wood burning...as in a cooking stove, boiler or fireplace? I hope that’s not proposed to be limited (banned) by the do-gooders...Oh wait, it was!
That's the second picture I've seen tonight where he looks as if he's on prednisone (steroids) for some illness. My ex-husband gets that same "look" whenever they treat his leukemia with prednisone. Matter of fact, my ex has that look now because the chemo combination which had been working for several years isn't working any longer. They start a different regimen in the next 7-10 days which will have possibly stronger side effects. The old regimen didn't cause him nausea or hair loss, only tiredness for a couple of days after his monthly 3 day infusion.
.
I heard that on talk radio today
I about fell over laughing
algore #2’s daughter did not settle for a Toyota Prius hybrid
I imagine a bit of research would come up with some wonderful photos and information about algore (#2) and his family
WOW, cut that out and use it as a Holloween mask.
Agent: What is your occupation?
Brooks” Stand up philosopher eh?
Agent: Oh, Bull sh#t artist.
You would think there might be a picture of her showing up to bail him out. If so, it will turn up! Night!
He looks like John Travolta does on those posters for “Hairspray”. Blech!
You beat me to it, but I would have (and did a week or so ago) put it stronger. There is no question in my mind he would have won, and big.
This makes it interesting. Obama will not win even the nomination. He is an inexperienced lightweight which will become more and more evident.
Edwards has self-destructed with his $1,400 haircut bill and miscellaneous goofs. The attacks coming at him now remind me a lot of those directed at Dan Quayle - that he is just a pretty face with no substance and a predilection for putting his foot in his mouth. Then there is the "WOT is just a bumper sticker" quip that is coming back to haunt him in light of the recent UK plots, and his strategy of taking the far left position does not seem to be working out very well. All of the above surprises me as I thought he was very shrewd, but I'll take it!
That leaves Hillary, who something like 50% of the population says they will not vote for. Even if that doesn't stick to election day it is a stunningly high figure for the leading dem right now.
Hmmmm. Maybe we have a chance after all.
A my wife says, the bigger they are the harder they fall. I will enjoy when this pompous hypocritical demagogue splats on the sidewalk of reality.
Alice folded her hands, and began:—
`You are old, Father William,’ the young man said,
`And your hair has become very white;
And yet you incessantly stand on your head—
Do you think, at your age, it is right?’
`In my youth,’ Father William replied to his son,
`I feared it might injure the brain;
But, now that I’m perfectly sure I have none,
Why, I do it again and again.’
`You are old,’ said the youth, `as I mentioned before,
And have grown most uncommonly fat;
Yet you turned a back-somersault in at the door—
Pray, what is the reason of that?’
`In my youth,’ said the sage, as he shook his grey locks,
`I kept all my limbs very supple
By the use of this ointment—one shilling the box—
Allow me to sell you a couple?’
`You are old,’ said the youth, `and your jaws are too weak
For anything tougher than suet;
Yet you finished the goose, with the bones and the beak—
Pray how did you manage to do it?’
`In my youth,’ said his father, `I took to the law,
And argued each case with my wife;
And the muscular strength, which it gave to my jaw,
Has lasted the rest of my life.’
`You are old,’ said the youth, `one would hardly suppose
That your eye was as steady as ever;
Yet you balanced an eel on the end of your nose—
What made you so awfully clever?’
`I have answered three questions, and that is enough,’
Said his father; `don’t give yourself airs!
Do you think I can listen all day to such stuff?
Be off, or I’ll kick you down stairs!’
