“TERROR PLOT: ONE ON THE RUN AS FIVE HELD”
http://news.sky.com/skynews/video/videoplayer/0,,30000-1273177,.html
Good Morning TMers.
Awoke early and can’t get back to sleep so I figured I check the latest news. Was reading some other threads and there were some good thoughts....
Notice how all these ‘secret’ documents come to light right after an attack/attempt? Hmmmm.....
None of these documents provide any detail...attack method, place, time, etc....
Based on recent events in Britain and Scotland, reasonable assumptions would conclude that car bombings are the most likely MO.
Back in a minute....more coffee needed.

“Ex-candidate lobs oil threat”
By Mark Stevenson
ASSOCIATED PRESS
July 2, 2007
ARTICLE SNIPPET: “MEXICO CITY The leftist who barely lost Mexico’s presidential election criticized President Felipe Calderon’s oil policies, promising unspecified consequences during a mass rally yesterday aimed at reigniting his government in resistance.”
Living in fear.....
Am I living in fear because I choose to heed these threats are prepare? Or because I avoid malls and large crowds? I don’t think so, only for the reason I avoid these places anyway, terror threats or not.
One of my rock climbing sayings: Fear is your friend, it will keep you focused. As long as it doesn’t paralyze you, it’s beneficial, natural, and healthy. It has served me well over the past 15 years of climbing.
Each of us must decide for ourselves. Was reading a book called ‘When Technology Fails’ and it spoke of using your intuition. If something feels wrong, maybe something IS wrong.
Folks say we must carry on with our lives as usual. Personally, I think that’s foolhardy in light of recent events. Our ‘leaders’ tell us not to worry about terrorism, continue shopping and spending money. I say bull hockey!
These threats, although not specific, are real. These folks do mean to kill us in large numbers. Our ‘leaders’ don’t have the stones to do what is necessary to ensure our safety so our safety is up to us as individuals.
Each of us must decide as individuals what the acceptable risks are.
People say I’m scared because I choose to prepare. I don’t see it that way. I live my life as I would anyway. I go to work each day. I go to the store when I need to.
Preparing oneself and avoiding potential threats is not living in fear. It’s common sense, something many folk don’t have.
Okay, I’ll get off my soapbox now.
Attack indicators....
Being aware of your surroundings means knowing when something is out of place. What would the attack indicators be? Depends on your location I guess. Could be a large black plume of smoke on the horizon or something as subtle as loss of cell phone signal, power, or cable TV.
I don’t know when, where, or how the next attacks will be. Maybe the attempts will fail as they did this weekend in Britain. To me, it doesn’t matter. I choose to prepare as best I can and pray that any attempts will be stopped or will be unsuccessful.
My friends will be back today so once again I’ll be offline. It’s been good talking with you all again. Please take care of yourselves and your loved ones.
My God keep and protect us from whatever evil is headed our way.

Anything on the pipe bomb that exploded near Disney?
Sorry, I should have linked to the thread, though there’s not much there.

Yep, I saw it, Thanks Kim.
Looking for a report and can’t find one yet.
Thanks for the reports folks. Please keep the info coming as long as you can. This may be just the start....
(took day off as friends are returning to day and I want to get the house in order before they return)
It could be dope or a domestic too, AD.
Too soon to say, not enough detials.
I can only imagine what condition those trailers are in after sitting for a year and a half in Arkansas. Unless, of course, they were being used by some gov folks for certain purposes as has been reported off the media. But, doubtfull ALL of them were used so it will be big bucks to “winterize” them I’m sure.
Of course the donees will surely take good care of them. /sarc
On another subject,
Gee another news report just now from the big city - drunk driver kills girl and flees.......but gets caught. No, his name wasn’t Smith. And a stabbing, just to take someone’s wallet. This stuff goes on every single day/night there. And, none of them is named Smith. Oh well, just doing the jobs Americans won’t do.

Missing U.S. Diplomat Found Dead In Cyprus

Nicosia, Cyprus (AHN) - A senior U.S. envoy in Cyprus who had been missing since Thursday has been found dead in a remote part of the Mediterranean island.
Tom Mooney, a U.S. defense attaché and army attaché at the U.S. Embassy in Cyprus was reported missing on Thursday. A search on Mooney led authorities to a remote area in Cyprus where they found his lifeless body. He has the rank of lieutenant-colonel.
A local radio station said authorities found the U.S. diplomat near the capital Nicosia. Although police have yet to establish the cause of his death.
Cyprus is one of the safest countries in Europe with the lowest crime rates. Attacks on foreign diplomat are rare in the region.
The 45-year-old U.S. official was last seen leaving the U.S. embassy in his Chevrolet Saloon car Thursday.
On Sunday, the U.S. embassy sought the assistance of Cyprus authorities to locate Mooney. The embassy posted “important announcement” on its Web site, saying “one of our embassy employees, Thomas Mooney, has not been in touch with the embassy for more than 48 hours.”
The appeal adds, “anyone with information which might be helpful in locating him should contact the local police station.”

Jacksonville, Florida (AP) Authorities from a terrorism task force closed off a 10-block downtown area today after a man made a bomb threat.
A Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office spokesman says the bomb squad and the Department of Homeland Security were called to investigate, but no bomb was found.
A witness called authorities around 11:45 a.m. to report a man who was behaving strangely in the middle of the street.
The sheriff’s spokesman says the man made a bomb threat and was speaking in Arabic, which an officer at the scene recognized.
The man, who was not identified, is being questioned by police. Charges are pending.
Evidence technicians are still processing the scene.
