7.On July 19, 2006, Bush used his veto power for the first time in his presidency to veto the Stem Cell Research Enhancement Act, a bill that would have reversed the Dickey Amendment, permitting federal money to be used for research where stem cells are derived from the destruction of an embryo.
I have yet to even address the Supreme Court Judges he appointed, or what he has done to protect this country from any attacks from Terrorist since Sept 11, 2001..and May I remind you the threat is not over, just look across the pond, to Glasgow , Scotland today.

I just feel that there is gonna be another chance for Bush to shine (esp for the Republicans) just as he did after 9/11 - I just hope it dont take another 9/11 style terror attack though.

Excellent point - Bush has destroyed his credibility with the Harriet Myers fiasco and his Amnesty “that he says isn’t an Amnesty - or does he?”. These blunders are now threatening the war effort in Iraq by alienating his base. Your last phrase sums it up “How are we supposed to trust a man to conduct a war who refuses to protect our ports and borders?”.

Bush was the biggest loser. He is the one who revived a bad bill after it was knocked down the first time. It was Bush who pushed this bad bill against the wishes of his own party, including most of the Reps in Congress. Although it was favored overwhelmingly by the Dems, it became Bush's bill and therefore he was the biggest loser -- plus the GOP, which has been split, and McCain who totally killed any slim chance he had to get the Rep nomination for Presiddent.
-- Instead of tax cuts that have been offset by higher, more massive government spending and are going to expire anyway, Bush could have made the case to reform or abolish the entire system. He should have came out of the gate in 2001 and pushed for a low flat tax.
-- He has not used the bully pulpit effectively to counter-attack the lies and disinformation from the MSM/Democrats. This to me is very poor judgment on his part and this is probably issue #1 with conservatives. Why defend Bush when he won't defend himself.
-- Government spending. In 2000, candidate Bush promised "local control" of schools. Shortly thereafter, he signed Kennedy's No Child Left Behind Act. Medicare Part D is another boondoggle. I used to work for the program and you should hear the gut-wrenching stories from seniors on how the plan won't pay for certain medications or they're in the coverage gap or they're going to "sue" the government for lying to them.
-- Also in 2000, Bush promised "no nation building." But that's exactly what's happening in Iraq. Even Bush I was smart enough to stop just short of taking out Hussein. He knew what exactly would happen. Also on the WOT, Bush is fighting a political-correct, MSM-driven war. He is fighting this war like Lyndon Johnson when it needs a General Sherman.
-- Plus there's the North American Union thingy, and no it's not some kook consipracy theory.
Again, Bush squandered a huge opportunity here to really make sweeping changes that would have made him one of our greatest presidents. Instead, his presidency is mediocre along the lines of Eisenhower.
That you disagreed with the WH on the issue of a 30 year in the making problem is fine (so did I for the most part). But that is how our Gov't works. To suggest everyone within our political party needs to be some cookie-cutout is non-serious and silly.
Hell R. Reagan was a terrible POTUS/CINC then as well. Since he gave full and blanket amnesty to all illegals who were here prior to 1982 (along with those here from in 85 or 86)
Reality is we are at war with a terrorist element that has no set borders. That thrives and exists because the Middle East has remained in the dark ages. The world is simple too small and to easily dangerous any longer to ignore it, or to allow them to stay in the dark ages.
It must be dragged out of them for our own NS. GWB understood this reality. With that goes along with the fact that this process is going to be long, extremely difficult and frustrating at times...(which is why UBL and other mimics like him don't believe we have the stomach for such difficult tasks).
