I didn’t know that. We weren’t trained to look for these things.
As everyone knows by now, we were trained, in regard to hijackers, that they will demand certain things, and you will not make waves. NEVER did our training ever mention that they would blow themselves up with us.
ID cards were the big thing if someone approached the door of the plane without a ticket. So we were warned for years that everyone must have a ticket who walks down the jetway.....
Sheesh....like a terrorist won’t have an “ID” or a ticket!! In other words, hang a false ID around your neck, and you could have gone onto a plane....no problem. I always told my supervisor, when they would emphasize these things in a briefing before many flights, how stupid I thought it was. But, we were warned that if we didn’t check these things, the FAA would fine us $1000 and we could possibly lose our job. Did you ever hear of anything so stupid? What were they thinking??
I was sitting home on 9/11, and when I saw what happened, I said to myself....”Oh my gosh...how easy that was.”

Witness on Radio 5 says he went to help the police “just like anyone would do”. The guy on fire starts throwing things and shouts “Allah”! Witness is allowed to go home but “won’t go without his car”. Quite right - a true Scot!
