I was reading the comments from the Daily Mail this morning. Amazing how many think this was an inside job by the US and UK governments.
I can’t see how this can be anything other than a deliberate attack. Vehicles (even mine!) normally pass in front of the area of the fire at very slow speeds.
On the “Asian” thing, I don’t believe there’s anything PC going on. India was Britain’s biggest colony. After independence, it split into India and Pakistan. Later, Bangladesh split from Pakistan. The term “Asian” was universally used in Britain to describe people from these three countries long before any of us had heard of Bin Laden or the like. Hundreds of thousands from all three countries now live here. Virtually no indigenous person in the UK could tell an Indian from a Pakistani or a Bangladeshi just by looking. “Asian” is a neutral term. Needless to say we all know that the present troubles are caused by Islamics, who, in the UK, are usually from Pakistan but can include some from India. None of these places are in the “Middle East”.

As I understand it, the Brits of Indian descent living in Britian have demanded that they no longer be included in the category of “Asian” as they don’t like being lumped with the Pakistanis, who have reportedly been far less successful in the UK and ahose communities are the source of much of the home-grown terrorists in the UK.
British guy being interviewed on Fox just said (paraphrasing), “these guys are apparently south asian, probably from bangladesh or pakistan”..

And its an insult to every Hindu, Buddhist or Christian Asian that they’re lumped in with this kind of crap by this PC language.
We of course don’t “know” these guys are Muslim, but I do wish the BBC etc would at least mention that its a strong likelihood.

I thought it was funny. I've seen burning cars in parking garages that weren't caused by terrorists, though perhaps this one was. I haven't read much of the thread yet.
Mark Twain said that the first thing that happened during the tremors that led up to the 1906 San Francisco earthquake was that you weren't allowed to tell jokes anymore.
What I find most amazing, is the thought that someone would actually *do* something like this to justify a controvertial decision. It tells me more about the person who believes it than anything else. If they think that a politician would do such a terrible thing to look right, I fear what the person would do to justify their own actions.
