PRESIDENT BUSH: I thank the members of the Senate and members of my administration who worked so hard on the border security and immigration reform bill. I'm sorry the Senate was unable to reach agreement on the bill this morning.
Legal immigration is one of the top concerns of the American people, and Congress's failure to act on it is a disappointment. The American people understand the status quo is unacceptable when it comes to our immigration laws. A lot of us worked hard to see if we couldn't find common ground. It -- it didn't work. ...
We cannot let up. We’ll have to watch them like hawks and scrutinize everything. We have to be far more vigilant than we have been in the past. We’re in new territory here. Not only can we not trust the Dems, but now our own representatives as well.
Mr. President: I voted twice for you for POTUS. Now you’ve demoted yourself to a POS.
“He should have showed some class today, and said “The People have spoken, and I respect that”.”
Bingo!
Dear Mr. President,
If LEGAL immigration is the concern, why do you insist upon forcing AMNESTY for ILLEGALS upon us.
Until you:
— Secure the Mexican border with a formidable physical barrier,
— Find and deport the more than 600,000 criminal absconders at large in this nation despite being ordered deported after full legal process,
— Vigorously enforce existing immigration laws,
— Eliminate the inexcusable months-long backlog of unissued passports to legal Americans, and
— Eliminate the equally inexcusable years-long backlog facing those who are doing the right thing and applying for LEGAL entry and authorization,
I don’t want to hear you breathe a word about immigration.
As for your Secretary of Homeland Security, Mr. Chertoff, he appears to be as appallingly incompetent as your former FEMA secretary. He is even less fit than you to speak to America about immigration and border security. Either allow him to do the job for which he was hired, or fire him immediately and replace him with someone who can.
As for the rest of your sorry Presidency, I intend to do for you exactly what you have done to secure our southern border and enforce the immigration laws for the past six years; i.e. absolutely nothing.
Actions have consequences, Mr. President, and your betrayal of people like me who elected you will be neither excused nor forgotten.

Okay they said 18-20 million in April of 2005, over 2 yrs ago.
Good
Agreed. Does he even have a clue that the majority of AMERICANS do not want this bill to pass? Is he that out of touch? Or is it that he just doesn't care?
You loons are great for a laugh. Thanks. Impeach him! We should have impeached every POTUS since FDR (for not controlling our borders). R. Reagan most of all for giving full and blanket, no-requirment amnesty to ALL (oh, wait, poor R.Reagan was just duped by the DEM Congress...who had already by then duped him on those "spending cuts" they promised....But he thought they meant it when it came to future border security.....yeah right).
Like I said, thanks for the laugh.
Our Gov't system works. Those who believe in something and don't flip-flop for polls should be admired. I am glad this bill was defeated via the process.....but that doesn't mean I think evil of those who seriously believe we need to have a comprehensive solution to this 30+ year in the making problem.
Poor baby, now he won't have a holiday named after him in Mexico, bwaaa, bwaaa...............
I voted for Mr. Bush twice. Boy hasn’t his second term been just oh so wonderful. First...he turns Katrina in the biggest welfare boondoggle ever...then takes the blame for “the mistakes” of all of it. Now he wants to legalize every Mexican illegal here and hob-nob with Teddy Kennedy. I have a right to be upset at him.
So sorry,no new laws.If you enforce the old ones this year maybe next year,YOU won’t be impeached.
Chinga te, el Jefe Presidente Bush.
T'was the Government Malfeasance Relief Act
“How the hell were you going to accomplish all that when you want to overload the very systems you talk about with Mexican illegals?”
That is the thing I find most incongruous about this whole attempt at amnesty.
They know that social security is in trouble.....
They know that American citizens are fearful of losing their jobs....
The healthcare system is costing way too much and is not affordable by many......
So they want to fix it by placing 20-30 million more people on it?????????????????

ahhh I found the original pdf.
I'm ashamed I ever supported you.
