The Presidents Statement - (barf alert)
FNS ^

Posted on 06/28/2007 10:31:23 AM PDT by Scythian

PRESIDENT BUSH: I thank the members of the Senate and members of my administration who worked so hard on the border security and immigration reform bill. I'm sorry the Senate was unable to reach agreement on the bill this morning.

Legal immigration is one of the top concerns of the American people, and Congress's failure to act on it is a disappointment. The American people understand the status quo is unacceptable when it comes to our immigration laws. A lot of us worked hard to see if we couldn't find common ground. It -- it didn't work. ...

Read it and weep Jorge:
An 18-year-old man on Wednesday was deported to Mexico after being convicted of sexually assaulting a 3-year-old girl at his family’s daycare center.

Reyes Salazar-Clara on June 13 was convicted of second-degree criminal sexual conduct. Salazar-Clara is a citizen of Mexico who illegally entered the United States in June 2005, U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement said.

Enforce the laws, or spend the rest of your time planning yer dam liberry.

The unfortunate and scary thing about this is that by next year the media will turn this into “conservatives (racists) turned away a chance to settle the immigration debate” and use it to bash Republicans, even though lots of dems and liberals were against it.

Then we get an even more stacked deck with Hil-Rod as president and a congress dominated by Dems. THEN what kind of bill will get rammed down our throats? I guess it couldn’t be much worse than 1358 or whatever it was.

You know, the biggest loser in this whole immigration fiasco is the other Bush, Jeb....and chance he had for the nomination in 2012 04 2016, or evenly possibly the VP slot in 2008, is now toast..

No can do. They don’t like the current laws because the main one involves deportation.

My $$ is that there are 2 X 12 million=24 million illegal aliens in US...and that is very conservative.

It was heartwarming to see the elitist Republicans and Democrats working together to kill the middle class in this country. You could almost see the 2 rich boys getting ready to cry over being unable to cut their servants’ salaries in half.

Well said.

The President backed a bill that was simply unacceptable. It was good that it was defeated.

However, these FReepers claiming that he should not be referred to by his title or that the Dixie Chick who insulted him was prescient, or that he deserves to be called nasty names are acting like classless lowlives.

It's embarrassing and it accomplishes nothing. Real Koskidz-style stuff.

Dear Mr. President,

Remember the story about Hell having no fury like a woman scorned? Well, Hell has no fury like a trusting base scorned and you scorned a lot of people who voted for you and believed in you. You and your party lost me and a whole lot of others, just like Carter’s antics in the late 70s drove me and many others away from even the “moderate” Democrats. This fiasco will be the “legacy” you yearn for, to say nothing of playing footsie with the Fraudi Arabians, Abbas/Fatah/Muslim Brotherhood, babbling on about the “religion of peace”, etc., etc.

I’ll miss you after 1/20/09 the same way I miss Dhimmi Jimmuh Carter.

From one of your former conservative base supporters.

Well said. This is not a disagreement we can “get over”. This was an attempt at a total destruction of what is left of the country. Bush has divulged his nature.

I’m sure that those of you who are being particularly nasty would have really enjoyed a Gore presidency or a Kerry presidency in Bush’s stead, wouldn’t you?

WE pay for everything for them.

"The reality is that it would be a major burden on our country and economy to just lift millions of workers out of it. They are a part of the economy, and I don’t mind letting them stay.."

Did you read the Heritage report about what it will cost to legalize them and give them access to SS, Medicare, Welfare, etc.,? It's already costing us something like $ 20,000 per illegal family per year for health care, schools, etc., without legalizing them and giving them access to programs that legals can access.

It might be a "major burden" on their employers if "millions of workers" were "lifted out of the economy," but it would hardly be a "major burden to the country or economy" or the taxpayers.

Me too! We have went to the matt for this president for 7 years now and what has it got us? Answer—a couple of S.C.J.’s I guess thats good but D_amn what in the world is he thinking with this Mexican crap?

We are swimming with the little rascals here in Georgia, they have filled our Jails, Schools, and emergancy rooms. As their numbers grow they get bolder and bolder. Somebody has got to send them back home while we still have a county left.
