Harry Reid, commenting on this decision today, actually said:

The Constitution requires that schools be racially diverse.

No reason to tear this statement apart - it’s worthless on its face.

Ahh, anyone ask him to show us where?

What about schools reflect their neighborhoods - and kids get to go to the school nearest home?

It isn't as though 'people of color" are prevented from living where they choose...and there have been/are a great number of blacks who are/have been against forced busing.

Thanks for posting that. That’s really scary... Our legislators don’t even know what the Constitution says do they??? A comment like that just proves it.

What really gets me is that all of these people who claim affirmative action type programs such as diversifying schools are meant to “end racism” don’t realize that it achieves the exact OPPOSITE of the things MLK, Jr. preached during the Civil Rights crusade... It’s CONTENT OF CHARACTER — NOT color of skin... and that goes for ALL colors of skin. Race or ethnicity should not be used as any sort of criteria at all in our society if we truly wish to “create equality” of opportunities for all. You cannot create equality with preferential treatment.

I wish just once one of our politicians would realize that racism can go “both ways”...
