Here we are again my friends, hopefully for the last debate thread on this particular monstrous legislation. Proceedings are supposed to begin at 9:30 a.m. EST, with the cloture vote being taken at 10:30 a.m.
On a personal note, you've all been wonderful in your passion, vigilance, and commitment to the principles on which our country was founded. If I have to be in a foxhole, I want to be in it with you guys.

GOD bless you for putting this up. In work and lurk mode all morning, with prayers up to boot.

This day is call’d the feast of Crispian.
He that outlives this day, and comes safe home,
Will stand a tip-toe when this day is nam’d,
And rouse him at the name of Crispian.
He that shall live this day, and see old age,
Will yearly on the vigil feast his neighbours,
And say ‘To-morrow is Saint Crispian.’
Then will he strip his sleeve and show his scars,
And say ‘These wounds I had on Crispian’s day.’
Old men forget; yet all shall be forgot,
But he’ll remember, with advantages,
What feats he did that day. Then shall our names,
Familiar in his mouth as household words-
Harry the King, Bedford and Exeter,
Warwick and Talbot, Salisbury and Gloucester-
Be in their flowing cups freshly rememb’red.
This story shall the good man teach his son;
And Crispin Crispian shall ne’er go by,
From this day to the ending of the world,
But we in it shall be remembered-
We few, we happy few, we band of brothers;
For he to-day that sheds his blood with me
Shall be my brother; be he ne’er so vile,
This day shall gentle his condition;
And gentlemen in England now-a-bed
Shall think themselves accurs’d they were not here,
And hold their manhoods cheap whiles any speaks
That fought with us upon Saint Crispin’s day.
Period. Dot. Bingo.

Just so you all know, we, the people, don't have a say in this.
From this link...
Senate Defectors Cast Doubt on Fate of U.S. Immigration Measure
...``We are in trench warfare, and it's going to be rough,'' said Pennsylvania Republican Arlen Specter, a chief sponsor of the legislation. ``But we are going to see the will of the Senate work one way or another.''
No hubris on display there. Nah.

I've been emailing the Colorado senators. Salazar (D) is still pushing this crap. Here's his response to my last email:
Thank you for contacting me regarding immigration reform. I appreciate
hearing from you.
As you may know, immigration reform legislation was brought back to the
Senate for further consideration on June 26. In my view, this is our best
chance to pass a bill that will secure the borders, strengthen and enforce
our immigration laws, and provide a realistic solution for the 12 million
undocumented workers in our country. The problem of illegal immigration is
comprehensive in nature, and thus requires a comprehensive solution. I look
forward to working with the President and my Republican and Democratic
colleagues to strengthen our national security and create a real
immigration system for the future.
Again, thank you for taking the time to share your views. I will certainly
keep them in mind as the Senate debates this important legislation.
Sincerely,
Ken Salazar
United States Senator
