US soldiers rescue a pregnant woman as they patrol the volatile border between Afghanistan and Pakistan.
Awesome. That kind of thing goes on all the time. Our military is the best in the world, but it takes the BBC to put the word out? Very sad, indeed. You won’t see ANY of this on America’s alphabet networks.
Yes. The poster didn't put it there, but since IMHO it rated maximum visibility, I did.
That is exactly right. FR gets news from just about every source out there. If it's interesting, people respond. If not, oh well. At least it's there. FR is so much more than a blog site. It's a place where we pull information from every corner to understand what's going on around the globe.
Being a conservative DOES NOT mean you close your eyes to another view, and MOST DEFINITELY does NOT try to attempt to block or silence another view.
It’s not “Our way or the highway”. That’s the Dems deal.
According to YOU. That sounds too much like liberal thinking.
It’s your call.
To me, it kind of makes FR look desperate. Our troops are doing stuff like that all the time over in the Middle East, and when all the lurkers see us go crazy over one little news story about it, it probably helps them justify their belief that we are doing mostly bad things over there and when the rare case of the US doing good comes up we exploit the hell out of it.
And getting far too little credit in the press. This is an outstanding exception.

Bozos like that will believe the worst anyway, so (bleep) em.
Yes, yet that is not the focus of the BBC reporter's report, as it should be. IMHO.
This report has little to do with the GWOT or fighting UBL, but everything to do with Muslim men's misogynistic/barbaric treatment of women.
If they tried treating their women better, they might reap the rewards, and not be so inclined to detonate themselves for 72 imaginary virgins...
I wish Freerepublic had a way to upload videos, until then we’ll just have to settle with websites like youtube. I put lots of videos about illegal immigration on youtube for keeparkansaslegal.
ping
This is probably why you’ve noticed a tone shift at the BBC.

Yes thanks.
Don’t get me wrong...the BBCheat still plays with the truth and slants the facts toward the left.
It seems though that more people are admitting this.
Good.
Thank you SO much for posting this video. I almost couldn’t believe my eyes or ears that the BBC put the piece together and had so many nice things to say about our contribution.
“As a subscriber to dialup, I have no interest in Internet video”
I felt the same way 8 years ago.
There’s tons of good stuff on You Tube and Live Leak. A picture is worth a thousand words and a video is worth ten times that. If we can use it to illustrate our point then it’s useful to our cause.
AMEN!
The narrator refers to the US military as “the mightiest army in the world.” And this vidio proves our military’s strength is not only in their skill, courage, and power in force, but also in the size of their hearts. Surprisingly for the BBC, the video also shows one soldier saying that after 9/11, the terrorists didn’t just pack up and say “our job is done” and quit; that’s why we’re in Iraq and Afghanistan. Nicely done.
Thanks, AliVeritas.
Did you see this?
Reading disappear!! Are you kidding? How will we read our e-mail? ; > )
