I heard Pete King on Mark Levin’s show last night, talking about this and I liked what I heard. He said the overview of it is on his website at peteking.house.gov

“The measure is also a direct challenge to President Bush, who sees immigration as a legacy issue”

In the same way that, say, the Battle of San Jacinto was Santa Ana’s legacy ... except in Bush’s legacy, the Mexicans get to win.

A question I have which has NOT been discussed is this.
WHY the importance of the lawmakers that all these illegal immigrants be allowed to become US citizens? Why not just permanent residents? Why the “citizenship” issue. Many could care less if they are legal citizens.

Ok, but how does this stop the Senate bill. They can still pass it, and then Pelosi can take it up, yes? Is there something procedural I am missing?

KEEP UP THE FIGHT, DON'T GIVE UP. . As I predicted they would try to resurrect it and call it something else. We have to keep our guard up. We need to keep the pressure up. We have no choice but to fight. The oligarchy wants cheap labor and a destruction of the middle class and the millionaire democrats want votes they can count on. A marriage made in HELL.

STAGE TWO is to go after the people who hire illegals. Start giving them fines and arresting them. Just catch ten or 100 of them on the nightly news. The magnet will dry up and most of the 12 million will go home by themselves.

As an addendum, we should anonymously call the IRS, people working "off the books" means taxes ain't being paid. Make anonymous fliers and hang them around the neighborhood, name names. It's time to embarrass these bustards, whether they give to the GOP or Rats, we don't need them.

CALL! CALL! CALL! CALL! AND KEEP CALLING TILL THE LINES FRY!

WRITE! WRITE! WRITE! WRITE! TILL YOU RUN OUT OF INK IN YOUR PEN!

Bombard the Democrats as well, especially the ones that ran on an anti illegal immigration plank and the ones in marginal districts who could be vulnerable. keep pounding on them. This is a bipartisan issue not a Conservative or Liberal issue BUT AN AMERICAN issue.

STOP AMNESTY NOW!! WE CAN DO IT!!

The best way to stop Shamnesty

Peter King just sent a message to the White House. And I’ll be damned if it ain’t the sweetest music.

I’m going to his website right now and thank him. God bless you Peter King!

Gee, George, it’s always those bloody Reichstags that get in the way. But not to worry, if you don’t have a match handy - you’ve always got NSPD 51.

WASHINGTON - In an attempt to derail the compromise immigration bill working its way through the Senate, a group of House Republicans unveiled an alternative measure Tuesday that takes a harder line against immigration that would block illegal immigrants from becoming citizens while directing the Bush administration to enforce current laws.

Role of the executive office: The Laws issued by the Legislature must be complied with exactly. It is the President's job to Preserve, protect and defend them while executing them faithfully and it's the Judiciary's job to act as competent administrators to see that all parties are in compliance with the Constitution.

This is what has everyone's blood boiling, Bush shouldn't need directing to do his sworn duty.

Interestingly, I received a letter dated June 13th from my congressman, Don Manzullo (R), IL, who espoused being totally against the Senate bill. He never mentioned anything of this sort, but I wouldn't be surprised if he was a member of the group behind this.

While we HAVE to keep up our pressure on the Senate, the House itself may well be a reserve force in stopping their bill. I understand that House Democrats are eying breaking up the Senate bill (if it comes to them) with the intent of passing sections at a time. But if the House Republicans hold together (with possible Democrat involvement) this could 'Kill The Bill' itself.
