When? Probably after his trip to England, Israel and maybe see the Pope.

If you have a suggestion for a song that should be played at Thompson's announcement speech, leave your comments here. How about this Hoagy Carmichael and Johnny Mercer classic?
Long as there is chicken gravy on your rice,
Ev'rything is nice.
Long as there's watermelon on the vine,
Ev'rything is fine.
You got no time to work,
You got no time to play,
Busy doin' nothin' all the live long day.
You won't ever change no matter what I say,
You're just made that way.
Lazybones, Sleepin' in the sun,
How you 'spec' to get your day's work done?
Sleepin' in the noonday sun.
Lazybones, sleepin' in the shade,
How you 'spec' to get your corn meal made?
Never get your corn meal made
Sleepin' in the evenin' shade.
When 'taters need sprayin',
I bet you keep prayin'
The bugs fall off the vine
And when you fo fishin'
I bet you keep wishin'
The fish won't grab at your line.
Lazybones, loafin' thru the day,
Now you 'spec' to make a dime that way?
Never make a dime that way
(Well looky here)
He never heard a word I say!

Dithering:Some advisers indicate it could go later if all the pieces are not in place. They acknowledged the team knows a decision needs to happen this summer saying, "You can only test the waters for so long"...Advisers say the time, format and venue of the announcement are all still under consideration.
Blithering:
Right now, they're working on core message defining Thompson's candidacy. That's being "sharpened." That's why the Web site is so bare.
Dithering and blithering don't win elections. Does FDT expect the GOP to give him the nomination without the need for FDT to run a coherent, energetic and effective campaign? WYSIWYG. If he can't or won't run effectively for the GOP nomination, we shouldn't expect much from Fred in the General Election besides getting trounced.
Maybe Fred is just getting warmed up, and he'll come roaring out of the gates. This warming up has been going on for months now, and I don't think that we are going to see a different FDT in September than what we are seeing in June.
If FDT does get a tiger in his tank in the next several months, you are all more than welcome to vaunt. I support Romney, but I would welcome another quality conservative candidate to keep Giuliani and McCain at bay.

“It looks like my Fourth of July plans are safe. NBC’s Kelly O’Donnell is reporting today that Fred Thompson will make his presidential announcement after July 4.”
My guess is that he’ll announce late afternoon Friday the 6th of July. Guess what all the Sunday shows will be talking about?

Does Fred have any real advisers or are these just talking heads trying to relay messages they hope are from Fred ?

My gut tells me he won't run. I suspect his wavering on the matter is a giant publicity stunt, but we'll see.
