Have you had any more luck, tracking down the picture of the WW11 Australian soldiers standing over the body of that pterodactyle, or have you given up on it?....I am still waiting for that picture to appear, and so far, it has not...do you believe I am waiting in vain?...do you have any remembrance of this picture being posted on FR?..I really am genuinely interested in this, but maybe I also should give up any hope that it will appear...
Huh? So you're saying that Dinosaur-->Archaeopteryx-->Modern Bird proves the Theory of Evolution? That's ridiculous.
I have not been shown that any of the so-called scientists today have any more wisdom or insight than the divinely inspired words of the Bible.
So science’s ability to map the human genome, split the atom, and send a man to the moon is not indicative of wisdom or insight?
you are wrong, of course, but it is your right to believe anything you wish, no matter how wrong it may be...
Wow! How self righteously typical of the “scientific” establishment and their shills! LOL
All good things proceed forth from the Divine - the Lord.
So you give God credit for the moon landing and nuclear energy, but refuse to accept he would work through evolution?
Nothing self righteous about it...you have mixed evolution up with abiogenesis...you seem to think that they are the same thing...they are not...just setting the facts straight...abiogenesis, deals with how life may have first appeared...evolution deals with life once it did appear...they are not the same subject...
My point was, if you chose to believe that they are one and the same subject and that makes you happy, then believe it...but you would be wrong...abiogenesis and evolution, are factually, two different subject areas....
I’m familiar with Wikipedia as well...I tell my students to be careful there.
I tell you the same thing.
Let me repeat: All good things proceed forth from the Divine - the Lord.
Why is that so hard for you to figure out?
There is a series of bivalves which show a fairly complete progression but the normal answer from creationists is that they are still bivalves. We can't win, when we suggest that the speciation we see with extant organisms is evolution, we are told that they do not show a jump from one kind to another and when we point to the fossil record with the extremely large jumps in time in spans we get told that we need a smooth transition showing gradual change.
The fossil record is sparse because of the extreme difficulty in having bones buried in such a way as to have them mineralize (very few get buried in the correct way), the number of catastrophic geological events which have upset the column (Orogeny, volcanism), the number of fossils subducted by continental movement (the most likely place to be buried is in oceanic slumps), the erosion and destruction of fossils exposed to the elements long before man was ever around to find them (fossils will be exposed continually through time), the destruction of fossils by man's activities (farming, wars, construction), the incredibly small area of the Earth that has actually been searched for fossils and the incredibly short time man has been actively investigating fossils in a scientific manner (less than 1/10,000 of 1%).
Oh, please, give us all a break...do you honestly, really honestly believe that people who support evolution, get their notions from Wikipedia?...how funny...well, if that is your notion, and you are also happy in that notion, so be it...of course, that notion would also be wrong...
I guarantee that if you were shown it, you would dismiss it.
What has been brought up time and again, throughout these many years on the CREVO threads, is that for many people, there is absolutely no conflict between their religious faith and their support of evolution...millions of people see no conflict...millions of other people do see a conflict...so it all seems to come down to which religous beliefs people take from the Bible...this seeming conflict between evolution and religion is really no different than all the arguments on the religious threads here, concerning various aspects of the Christian religion...
There are many examples of this, but I guess the two biggest points of conflict between Christians of varying denominations and beliefs, are the differences of opinion, regarding the perpetual virginity of Mary, and the whole matter of transubstantiation at communion...
People of differing and varying Christian denominations have very differing and varying beliefs when it comes to matters of what the Bible is or is not saying...the conflict between some Christians denominations and evolution is no different than these other conflicts..
It all comes down to ones own personal or ones own personal denominations interpretation of the Scriptures...that is what it seems to boil down to...
In your post #350, you claimed that this picture of WW11 Australian soldiers standing over a pterodactyle was posted about a month ago, on a thread where both b_sharp and I saw this picture...did you post that picture yourself?...because I have gone through all your posts going all the way back to the end of April, and I cannot find any picture such as this posted by you, nor can I find where you provided a link to such a picture....so, the question still is, where is this picture at?...
Well, thats mostly the case with me. Then again, there is nothing which disproves that my belief in a higher being caused the beginning of the universe as opposed to its appearing out of nothing.
that is not the same as those who believe that Jesus pranced around with T-rex. They are using their faith to shield them from obvious things that God created, and gave them the ability to observe.
Wrong again.
You and your cohorts in the Darwinian cabal insist that measly evidence makes for “science”. One word comes to mind in response to that:
Wrong.
I was force fed “evoluytion” throughout public school years...now that I’ve grown up and can think for myself —yes, darwinism and the structure that has been built up to prop it up -— is bunk.
The problem is that those of us who believe in the scientific method would like to see arguments as to why we are wrong. Your position is simply: If it contradicts my fundamentalist reading of the bible, its wrong.
Its like speaking to different languages.
Question: Do you believe that all darwinism is bunk? IE do you believe that all evolution is bunk ie not even moths or birds have evoloved?
I mean, I don't believe that man came out of primordial soup. But, I believe that if you take the same breed of bird and put them on islands with different habitats that after a few hundred years the birds will be different in their traits.
