PETRIFIED PARIS HILTON mouthed “I love you” to her parents last night — before being carted off to face a hostile reception in prison.....[snip]

[snip]Prisoner number 9818783 was put back in her special cell — isolated from other inmates — amid fears the angry lags could RIOT over her special treatment.

Wardens even ordered a lockdown as prisoners — who think Paris pretended to be sick to con doctors — threatened a revolt.

An insider at the prison in Lynwood, California, said: “The women inside the jail are seething. They say if you’re a rich white girl you get special treatment.

“They are furious that while Paris had her own special cell with a panic button, was given better food and was kept away from the general population, she was still released early.

“There are girls in here with cancer, TB, and with MRSA. They aren’t allowed to go home and are treated by prison medical staff.

“The prisoners think if you’re rich and pretend you’re sick you can get away with murder.

“Many of the girls have been locked down in their cells all day because they are so furious. The jail is full of screams about Paris.

“Prison bosses fear this could simmer over into violence.”

Ex-inmate Lisa Caprie said she suffered a nervous breakdown inside but was kept there.

She said: “We heard Paris was treated like the Queen of England. It’s not fair. My husband fought to get me out when I had a breakdown but they didn’t listen.”

And Elana Lamb, set free with an ankle tag, said Paris made a nuisance of herself by repeatedly pressing a medical alert button.

Lamb, 38, said: “She was just whining, complaining she was cold and hungry.”............."

I actually agree that her sentence is a tad long. A few days behind bars should do it. Having said that, I believe her, and the women in Hollywood like her, are on a course of self destruction. The judge just may be trying to save her life. Then again, in a free society, what is the judicial system’s obligation in that matter; very little. However, the judge just may be trying to save someone else’s life, because clearly, she does not respect authority, or the law, hence driving on a suspended license.

Didn't mean to imply I was jealous of rich folks. In fact, I'm in a position where many are jealous of me. However, I do believe in fair play and there should not be special rules for those who are rich.

For example, if I am ever caught in a DUI, I would expect to be treated just like any other schmuck caught in such a situation. I would expect to spend the night in jail, show up in court the next morning with bad hair and a hangover, and pay the piper accordingly. It makes me angry to see a certain class of people who find themselves in these situations (i.e. celebrities, politicians) treated more favorably.

We don’t hate the rich, we just want to join them. While the idea of going to women's jail is not entirely unattractive, I'm going to have to take a pass on that and stick with fantasizing about sneaking into a convent populated by horny nuns, a la' Sir Galahad in Monty Python's The Holy Grail. How is it “media grandstanding” by the Judge when there have been absolutely no pictures in the courtroom, no pictures of Paris in the courtroom or media interviews of, by, or from the Judge? I see NO evidence to support a charge of “media grandstanding” other than the comments of a few media persons. Seems to me this Judge had enough of Hilton’s spoiled histrionics and defiance of previous rulings and gave her exactly what she needs...other than a good paddling.

With regard to the high Sheriff, I don’t have enough information about him or the relationship between he and the Judge, but it appears the Sheriff also (like Hilton) defied the Judge’s specific orders (written twice)that she not be given house confinement. If there are problems resulting from the Sheriff’s disregard of the Judge’s specific ruling, then they are of the Sheriff’s own making.

The only reason she is in jail is so the Judge and the DA can mug for the cameras. Max time in jail for a normal case of this sort would be about 7 days with time off for work release”

The Sheriff cited “medical reasons” for her release. Since when does the Sheriff modify the Judges terms of release? That’s special treatment. The reason she is in jail is because she is a 3rd time offender - DUI, 2 driving on a suspended license charges. She has shown a total disregard for the law - she feels that she’s Paris Hilton and she’s above it. The law applies to everyone, like it or lump it.

I totally agree with you, and hope people will quit criticizing the judge. He is, in my opinion, the first to take any action to try to save this woman from self-destructing.

But, she seems to me to have narcissistic personality disorder, a truly tough ssituation for even the best psychiatrist to deal with. It may be too late for her, but I respect the judge for making the effort.

I was in a line in Wal-Mart yesterday and there were two sour looking nuns behind me.

With my usual luck, I was behind a couple who were stocking up for 3 years in the wilderness. As I watched their incredible collection of stuff being rung up, I turned to the nuns and said, “I’ll bet they have $400 worth of stuff.”

Neither nun smiled. I edged up to check out the actual amount of the couple’s purchase. After deducting their 25 coupons (I always get in line behind 25 coupon people), their total was $501.

Again I turned to the nuns and announced the total. Man, were they humorless and cranky. They were also dumb. They had about 8 items and could have gone through the quick check out.

Not to discourage you, but they were also very plain looking ladies.

So, I’d head on to that woman’s prison if I were you.

Basically Paris was being held in solitary confinement.

"Solitary confinement" in her case is having a private cell.

So why did she lose her license? It was for a DUI.

Chris Rock has a bit about how his father got sick while he was poor, and his mother got sick after he became rich. He said if people really knew the difference in the level of care based on that alone, there’d be riots in the streets.

As for Paris, I have no doubt the girl hasn’t given one second’s regret to the illegal behavior that landed her in jail, and every waking moment to blaming others for her predicament.

I suspect if their is a riot the Judge who decided to whore for media headlines by sending a prison of her PR status to a jail is to blame. She is NOT “just like everyone else” no matter how much that offend the pseudo egalitarianism of the average American.
