Jimmy Carter no longer the worst U.S. president.
6/8/07 | Joe Lynch

Posted on 06/08/2007 8:10:00 AM PDT by westcoastwillieg

Jimmy Carter is no longer the worst U.S. president. Carter only gave away the Panama Canal; Globalist Bush is giving away our sovereignty, our language, our jobs, our social security plus he wants to give amnesty to 12-20 million illegal aliens who broke our laws.

While the number of illegal aliens within our borders is not known with any precision, most estimates range from 12 to 20 million. Unfortunately these are only ‘guesstimates’ no one actually knows how many there are. Some claim it could be 30 million or higher. If each amnestied illegal only brings in four dependents, our population will increase anywhere from 48 to 120 million and perhaps more.

Bush claims he wants immigrants to learn English yet refuses to rescind Executive Order 13166. This order is an unfunded mandate that directs any entity that receives federal funds to provide services in ANY foreign language. With a stroke of his pen, W could rescind E.O. 13166.

Bush speaks with a forked tongue and is only giving lip service to securing our borders. When discussing border security the president sounds like a hawk but actually prevented any meaningful border enforcement for five years. It’s a national disgrace that the president has done next to nothing to secure our borders; by his incompetence, he has placed the entire nation at risk. It‘s time to put the impeachment machinery in gear.

Other than his stance on illegal immigration I think Bush has done a fine job. I don’t expect Bush to be 100% perfect.

So, I guess that means you like his liberal spending, and you liked him signing the McCain/Feingold legislation that limits our free speech? I guess it doesn't bother you that he holds Ramadan dinners for Islam followers? I guess you see no harm in him pressuring Israel to give away land that God gave to them? Even though God warns that any nation who goes against Israel will suffer His wrath? I guess you are OK with him giving money to terrorist organizations, like Hamas? Yeah, I guess your right. He's a great President. < / sarcasm >

Is this immigration bill a travesty? You bet. But saying Bush is even in contention for “worst president” is like saying “I’m a breast man, so I think Ann Coulter is only slightly more attractive than Helen Thomas.”

FDR is still the worst.

No sale. Carter was FDR's eceonomics paired with Neville Chamberlain's foreign policy sense.

Bush is the worst Republican since Hoover. Carter is still hands-down the worst in US history.

Bush is the worst Republican since Gerald Ford, not Hoover. I have always considered James Buchanan to be the worst US president, but Carter isn't far behind.

This is sad but true. W is the worst President in my history. He not only is giving away our sovereignty and language and industrial base and using up our military and dollars, I have read that virtually every government agency has been place in the hands of political appointments that have nothing to do with qualifications. As a result the services that Americans have come to expect have been mis managed and cut.

I can not wait until 2008

As a BUSHBOT..... Ah...sweet predicatability. The Bush haters believe everyone who doesn't share their hate must be the exact opposite, a robot programmed to love the 43rd President no matter what. Sorry, I can differ with this guy strongly while recognizing the good he's brought and the utter disaster others have brought or would have brought if they had been elected in his place. Believing this guy is a contender for worst president is like a guy who likes his women short betting on Helen Thomas to beat Ann Coulter in a beauty contest.

That, and he’s still building his legacy.

Great point!

And FDR probably did more long term harm than any of them.

But, FDR had one advantage over Jimmah and LBJ, he had balls! He may have been wrong domestically, but he never forgot the words of his cousin about the 'big stick'..

There are few dems these days who would even be worthy to wash the underwear of Roosevelt & Truman.

Now, I'm not discounting the damage the 'new deal' has done, but I bet neither he nor Truman would break a sweat walking right over Iraq and into Iran..

W is the worst President in my history.

Well then, you are to be congratulated. You see, your writing skills are far better than the average six year old's. You must be only six, right, because otherwise you wouldn't be excluding Bill Clinton from your list?

As a result the services that Americans have come to expect have been mis managed and cut.

What cuts? Government's been growing like a lethal cancer for the past six years, and only slightly more slowly for the eight years prior to that. Who's being deprived of services via cuts?

Dang straight, and the sad thing is there is a growing contingent on FR who think it would have been just peachy to have Gore or Kerry in office instead of Bush.

Harding may have few fans among liberal historians, yet he was about the most effective depression-fighter ever to occupy the White House. The tax and spending cuts that he pushed through Congress helped to end the severe depression that had begun in 1919 and to stimulate a recovery that would last through the decade of the 1920's.

Incidentally, Harding is the only president during the twentieth century to significantly downsize the federal government--something not even Ronald Reagan was able to accomplish.

“The Bush haters believe everyone who doesn’t share their hate must be the exact opposite”
.
I would replace the word “hate” with “DESPISE”

====What cuts? Government’s been growing like a lethal cancer for the past six years,====

The bureaucracy has grown while personal that really deliver services have been cut.

The FDA is an example. That is why we do not have sufficient personal to look into the safety of the imports into this country

It would be hard to find a worse President than Carter because you couldn’t find one, except maybe Bill Clinton.

Carter=Socialist moonbat before his time.

Clinton=Immoral liberal playboy pervert

No, they wouldn’t. Truman, especially, had balls.

However, I think the domestic policies that FDR espoused inevitably lead to a weakening of the will to defend one’s self and one’s country if it entails more than a little inconvenience.

Furthermore, FDR, really was soft on Communism and had numerous reds in his administration. As his sainted wife put it, “Communists are just socialists in a hurry”.

And, of course, they had the excuse that we didn’t have all the experience of socialism’s failures that we do now. Although we had enough.

Heck, I knew it was wrong when I was 10, just by checking out the commandment about stealing.

I love the Gipper, but the reality is, we have this 'flood' in part because of Reagan's amnesty for illegals.

I agree but I believe Reagan was under the impression that the employer's of illegals would be prosecuted after signing the bill. I can't imagine Reagan being fooled a second time. "Fool me once, shame on you. Fool me twice, shame on me." Bush on the other hand has no excuse.
