Tonight's cloture motion has just gone down to defeat. No where near the 60 yea votes needed to cut off debate.
Harry now pontificating on Senate floor.
Honey, I feel badly for you. I really do. I sympathize. Disallusionment is a bitter pill to swallow after fighting so hard for a man that turns out to be as stupid as others have claimed from the beginning. I’m with you. I’ve been there.
Now, pour out the remaining martinis in the pitcher, take an alka-seltzer, and go to bed. You’ll feel much better the-day-after-tomorrow and the world will be a better place.
If the majority can organize a constructive winning poltiical argument then fine.
this spectacular display of self destruction as the grand victory is the height of deluded thinking.
What have any of these border bots won?
People are openly celebrating the demise of the Republican party. Do people really think the Democratic party is going to close down too just to make things fair?
This is so horrible.
It was nothing more than a mere warning to those who may look the other way now. Of course if you like the current form of legislation they tried to get by, then I suppose I can understand your snide remarks.
“Someone answer this for me.
Dims want this bill to get 12 million new voters. Reps elites want this for cheap labor. Now, if these people are maded legal..are they still cheap? Won’t their pay be raised to legal levels? I’m trying to understand what these people are willing to sell my country for.”
Let me answer the question for you this way with a bit of history. In 1986 they legalized about 2-3 illegal aliens. In 2007, they attempted to legalize 12-24 million aliens.
In 2012, they attempted to legalize....
Does that answer your question?
“There is no way a Dem congress is going to pass stricter immigration laws.”
Let me make it a little clearer for u bot.
Only 26% supported this disaster. That means more than GOP conservatives were against it. It means Reagan democrats and independents were against it as well.
The ONLY way this bill will pass at any point in time is to get that 26% number
above 50%. Untill that happens, no politician of any party is going to touch this.
Not even the Democratic controlled House.
Now, why don’t you and the rest of the White House interns get busy pushing Bush to build the fence.
I think so too. I'm beyond relieved, like most of us are, to still have our country another day. I've also got a massive headache, and it's a bittersweet, almost day by day small battle victory in this terrible war. And, as others have pointed out, we must keep the powder dry and stay well to get right back in the saddle.
You do? Maybe you could fill the rest of us in. I've rarely seen such a stunning display of irrationality.
In a democracy, this is technically impossible.
When 75% of the populace disagrees with a position, we generally call that a “clue.”
Thanks for clearing that up.
Yes, the Republican majority in the Senate will now bring forth a more reasonable and restrictive bill on illegal immigration.
Oh wait, you guys lost the 2006 election for us so the Democrats are in charge of the Senate so there will NOT be a more restrictive or reasonable bill as you say.
What is so hard to understand about this?
There are no political resources in the field to implement the anger of borderbots. This is reality.
You have to actually elect someone to office who agrees with you.
This should have been part of your educational process.
These are astounding figures. GWB had the ultimate support of only a half dozen of his party members in the Senate. I bet he is really angry tonight.
“Is it dawning on you yet that there will be no increase in border enforcement in this new post victory world?”
Read post 640.
Where you're involved, there is no us.
If no bill passes, nothing changes.
Border enforcement remains as it is.
Do you favor current border enforcement as it is?
Keep in mind that the reported 26% was based largely on subterfuge by the shamnesty crowd.
Ask people how happy they would be to pay their share of the $2.5 trillion cost and tell them what that cost is for their household and you would be lucky to get more than 2% supporting Shamnesty.
Elections have consequences?
On congress.gov today, it was 92% against and 8% for that were emailing their congressmen. I find it hard to believe that only those against were sending emails today. I believe the 92% is more indicative.
