Tonight's cloture motion has just gone down to defeat. No where near the 60 yea votes needed to cut off debate.
Harry now pontificating on Senate floor.
Is it dawning on you yet that there will be no increase in border enforcement in this new post victory world?
Sadly, this is probably all that's left. We used to call people who babbled like this "burnouts".
Let me tell you if you don’t know- This bill is as dead as a Guliani fetus!!!
Yes, but JD will just lead counter legislation under Republican leadership in the House to stop this.
Oh wait. JD Hayworth lost his Congressional seat and the majority because of bad arguments like those being made on this thread.
I guess it matters very little what JD thinks now.
Sure. Bush is right, and 75% of the citizenry is wrong. Do you realize how stunningly ignorant you comment appears?
He's both
The problem is—as I see it—is that I don’t have a party anymore.
That was step 1. Now for step 2; in 2008, we must elect an American president and an American congress.
It’s very sad indeed. We campaigned hard for him in ‘04 and I would like a refund of my campaign donations. Something like two weeks after he started his second term, he was galavanting around discussing the NAU and calling the MM vigilantes. Yes, I took that personally. All my friends had promised Bush would “do something about the border” in his second term and he “can’t do everything at once.”
Granted it’s said Bush has never changed his position of favoring foreign nationals over our own. However, it’s a post-9/11 world and I guess I was a sucker for thinking he actually planned to do something. Something besides more rewards for the criminals.
Hopefully, they will know what “Nay” means when Graham comes up for re-election.
It’s down party lines. Most Republicans voted NAY to end debate and so killed the bill. Only the usual handful of RINOS, Hagel,Graham,Specter,Lugar,Voinvich voted to end debate. Republicans who killed this bill deserve a thank you note.
If this bill would have passed then Weiner Nation and the liberal media would have blamed Republicans even though only it was only the usual handful of Rinos that supported bringing this bill to a vote and were on the wrong side. This has been the case when bad bills passed or good bills failed. The few RINO, liberal, “Republican” moles provide cover for the Democrats so any spending increase,Amnesty or tax raise is always BIPARTISAN (the fault of the GOP) even when most Republicans vote differently than most Democrats.

I think it's just fatigue.
It is sad. It’s like shooting fish in a barrel :(

Oh, ok. I’ll add those two new terms to my list then, lol.
Right! Or he can move in with either one of my two Senators. Boxer or Feinstein! Either one will do! LOL!
Si
There is “LAW” at my house !!
“I” go by the LAW !!
WHY DON’T YOU ??
ENFORCE THE LAW !! BUILD THE WALL !!
“Indeed.
There are no prospects for increased border enforcement.
The border will remain more open than ever because of the failure of this bill.
It is a mere exercise in irrational anger.
There are no political solutions to illegal immigration which will not be denounced as SHAMNESTY.
Everyone here knows it.
Everyone here is perfectly willing to have Hillary Clinton as President for 8 years and the House and the Senate to be controlled by forever.
In that period of time immigration laws will not get tighter.
The irrationality of this group is astounding.”

The only irrational one in this group is you. There are several bills out there that are better than this turd.
None are perfect, but most are much closer to what could be deemed as “good for the US” instead of “best for Messico”.
Cloture sucks, ok?
Comprende’?
Everything should be discussed...instead of a cheesy blanket up or down vote.
Read up a bit more there amiga.....before you wedge your foot deeper into your mouth, ok?
