The Organisation of Petroleum Exporting Countries (OPEC) has warned that the drive for environment-friendly bio-fuel risked pushing oil prices "through the roof"So much for Supply & Demand, hmm?

Fuel is fungible and as prices rise more opportunities arise to compete with OPEC policies (i.e., oil shales and oil sands exploitation). This threat has the potential for pain short term but will be “cut your nose off despite your face” action in the long term...

...bio-fuel output could become unsustainable because it competed with food production. Now that statement i agree with completely!

Blaah, blaah, blaah. Good luck with that cartel thing. What's that expression about a cartel among thieves?
Anyway, I wish that biofuels were a threat to them. We need a breeder reactor program. Now that would strike fear into them.

So much for Supply & Demand, hmm?You missed the point. He was saying that if we pursue a strategy to reduce oil usuage, they will have no incentive to develope new sources. Then IF biofuel strategies fail, we will be forced to go back to oil. HIGH DEMAND will force HIGH PRICES in the absence of INCREASED PRODUCTION.
