As someone born in the real Hong Kong, that may be a good idea. But I bet most of the Vermont residents, esp those who support secession, will see red when they hear “free trade” and “Hong Kong”.

...a small cadre of writers and academics is plotting political strategy and planting the seeds of separatism...I doubt if this small cadre of academics and writers is thinking of setting up a free trade zone. And as someone once said, I'd rather be governed by fifty names chosen at random from the phone book than the faculty of Harvard!
