Pelosi.......

We must remember - you are innocent until proven guilty.

Unless you are a Republican.

Good point. With such a stiff penalty he’ll probably drop some names.

Dems will be walking on pins and needles for awhile.

“You think he will do 5 ?”

Do 5 what? Five apologies? Sure. He might do 8 to 10.

Jail time? No way. He’ll be removed from the ethics comittee and be centured for poor judgement.

Don't be fooled. Fox may be "conservative" in comparison to the other networks, but it is definitely part and parcel of the MSM.

No kidding. Just watch Barnes and Kondrake for a syrupy beltway insider love fest.

The Gray Lady had the story of the terror arrests for possible attack against JFK Airport on like page 30 of the metro section. Wonder where they will bury the Jefferson bribe indictments?
He can’t use his frozen cash in freezer in his defense fund can he? LOL!

Look, Gonzales was introduced to us as being only incidentally of Mexican heritage. Turned out it was the Caudillo tradition he picked up (at home presuambly), and that's simply not compatible with American standards for a government official.

As I suggested, people with that sort of attitude would really be much better off back "home", somewhere else, 'cause this ain't it.

Am I supposed to take this bigoted screed as argument?

BTW, I pointed out the American tradition concerning the sanctity of the precincts of Congress dates back to the First Continental Congress, and it's based on a standard set with the execution of Charles I of England.

Frankly, I am not opposed to some executions in this case since the raid constituted treason.

You might also notice that Alberto is very close to being ridden out of town on a rail anyway.

He does not, as it were, work well with others.

Believe it. - The correct venue for Federal crimes is the United States.

Your ignorance of American history, law and tradition is no excuse whatsoever for you to throw the "race card" (as if the AG is the member of some other race ~ which he's not).

I'll guarantee you I've got as many Conquistadores in my background as he does.

There is also a long standing American tradition that when a Federal Judge signs a warrant, that the warrant is served.

I guess you can pick your traditions and I’ll pick mine.

And just an FYI. Aren’t we glad this warrant was served?

Yeah, I saw that line of reasoning late last year as well. I don’t buy it: criminal activity cannot be protected by throwing up a “separation of powers” argument. Wrong’s just wrong.

Yes, the judge signs the warrant. Then the person who is to serve the warrant asks the permission of the Speaker of the House.

Seems pretty clear cut to me.

You were aware, of course, of the Separation of Powers doctrine weren't you?

That means, among other things, that the Congress has jurisdiction over the Capitol Building, grounds, and other facilities for which it may own or pay rent. From time to time they invite the Executive to lend them the services of their investigators to check things out.

Otherwise, the Congress is responsible for order in its own precincts, not the Executive.

The raid in question was UNPRECEDENTED in American history. The perpetrators should be disposed of as treasonous rabble.

Here's a thought for you ~ let's say the Executive decides that the Conservative members of Congress are too troublesome so he has the FBI pick them up for questioning while floor debate on the immigration bill takes place. Just after the final vote they are released. (The AG orders this done under a warrant signed by Justice Ginsburg).

Would you say that is a proper or improper process of law in the American tradition?

Doesn't matter if it's just one scummy guy like Jefferson, or Tim Tancredo and his friends who are hit with an unconstitutional raid ~ the raid is still unconstitutional, and, in fact, treason against the United States of America.

So, it's a Demcrat. No laws are ever broken by them. Expect to find this on page 30 of mpost papers, and zero or little in ABC, CBS, NBC and CNN.

“the raid is still unconstitutional, and, in fact, treason against the United States of America.”

Please cite for me the letter of the constitution that makes the serving of this warrant unconstitutional. Tradition won’t cut the mustard. Show me the law.

It was apparently quite legal.
