Presidential hopeful Hillary Rodham Clinton outlined a broad economic vision Tuesday, saying it's time to replace an "on your own" society with one based on shared responsibility and prosperity.
The Democratic senator said what the Bush administration touts as an "ownership society" really is an "on your own" society that has widened the gap between rich and poor.
"I prefer a 'we're all in it together' society," she said. "I believe our government can once again work for all Americans. It can promote the great American tradition of opportunity for all and special privileges for none."
Clinton said she would reduce special breaks for corporations, eliminate tax incentives for companies that ship jobs overseas and open up CEO pay to greater public scrutiny.
Clinton also said she would help people save more money by expanding and simplifying the earned income tax credit; create new jobs by pursuing energy independence; and ensure that every American has affordable health insurance.

Hey she did work. In fact she worked as a lawyer on land deals (like Whitwewater and Castle Grande) for the Rose Law firm. That is if we can ever find those billing records.
Why, oh why, is she living in the United States then? Just go to one of those freedom-loving, prosperous countries that doesn’t have that “On Your Own” attitude that curses America.
WE?
We who???
You can bet your last nickel she is not intending to be 'in it' with the rest of us down 'on the plantation' ("You know what I mean....").
“We’re going to take things away from you on behalf of the common good.”
Hide your assets,......and your guns
You just reminded me that with so much of our wealth in retirement plans we can no longer hide it and they know how to tax it..................
Rugged individualism, self reliance, or dependence on an all knowing, all controlling welfare state?
Which way America?
Yay, more proof to hate this wench.
Victory united! Sieg heil!
WE?
Mark Twain said “the only persons who should say we are a women with child or a man with a tape worm.”
Her Majesty has always hinted at being a socialist but now she has openly announced it. Amazing that a socialist can actually be competitive for the presidency of the United States. Was all our history of freedom to this point for naught?
So When does the Hammer and Sickle replace the Stars and Stripes?
“I prefer a ‘we’re all in it together’ society,” she said.....Gag me with a spoon! Your stupid attempts at trying to find a nametag to hang on ways to take more of my money are beyond stupid you village idiot!!!
Hey Hillary, will Bill share all his women? From those who have to those who need?
Yeah, I guess covering up scandals might be considered “work”, at least in the legal profession. But I’d imagine an assembly line worker or farmer would think differently.
She paid how many millions in consulting fees for this transparent crap? Just the person we need to “manage” the U.S. economy.
I’m sorry, Mrs. “make it up as you go along” Clinton, but I happen to be in the middle class and President Bush’s tax cuts were very much appreciated.
Wasn’t it Jesse Jackson who said, “It’s better to have the hope of getting something from the Clintons than to actually get it from Bush.”
As long as the media doesn’t question her statements, the bigger the lies she tells (Clinton 101).
Just say NO to communism and hildeb!tch!
LLS
Its the politics of envy. Nothing more.
