...he was stunned to see two large Confederate flags flying from trucks...emblazoned with the words "The South Shall Rise Again." I'm stunned, too, that people still think it is cool to fly this flag. Our society should bury these flags -- not flaunt them...because the Confederate flag symbolizes racial tyranny to so many... ...This flag doesn't belong on city streets, in videos or in the middle of civil discussion. It belongs in our past -- in museums and in history books -- along with the ideas it represents.

Agreed.
Most conservatives operate on logical thought, while liberals 'emote'.
Just as a logical, rational argument will turn a liberal into a foaming, spewing mass of humanity, an argument based on a emotional concept, like racism, automatically puts a conservative in an indefensible position.
Of course. Longstreet was a better man than I am, lol.
And be sure to invoke Godwin, when you really get nailed to a cross.
Nobody’s nailing me to anything. Especially you.
No I was pretty sure you'd deny them.
ROTFL!
Now thats a hilarious response. Thanks!
Maybe you need to read up on the rebellion a bit more.
In other words, the plight of the slaves meant very little to BOTH sides.
Well that's not entirely true. The South wanted the slaves to remain exactly where they were and were willing to secede, and then launch a rebellion in order to maintain them in that position.
You said a mouthful! Most conservatives are easily manipulated when it comes to issues of race.
Thanks. I wonder what the reports are for 2006. Since Bush’s NCLB passed, the education system in the south has greatly improved. Glad to see all those inner city kids doing so well in school.
Well you thought right. Al Gore is another southerner who isn’t well liked here.
Umm. Because no one bothered? Why do you think; it was a conspiracy to hide something? Since you see a lack, why don't you write some?
No, Southern revisionism. The Southern leaders wanted the official name changed to War Between The States. Civil War was a compromise. As a trivia note, the conflict was misnamed on the Marine Corps memorial in Arlington Cemetery.
Oh really? Amazing considering the north won the war and pull all the strings. Since when does the north take the south into consideration while they are sitting up there in DC harassing the people?
Absolutely! Western, white American heroes will NEVER be left to stand. Consider how Christopher Columbus is now demonized or the 400th anniversary of Jamestown. Not a celebration but a "commemoration". How long before it will go from a commemoration to a travesty? Consider the current immigration invasion. How long before the Alamo is considered an event no longer worthy of celebration and men like Travis, Bowie and Crockett are considered evil men?
#####Didnt you post this same post somewhere else?#####
Not the exact same post word for word, but I’ve posted similar posts many times.
Excellent post! People better wake up. They should ask themselves why the south is the last conservative bastion in the country. Maybe because we have our mindset right.
Exactly!
Both were Southern born and raised, both launched their poltitical careers there. If that doesn't make them Son's of the South then what does?
Both are Democrat Scalawags.
By definition a 'scalawag' was a Southern white who joined the Republican party.
Actually, given the South's belated conversion to conservativism, it is you all who should be thanking those of us in the Plains who have stood against liberalism all these decades. Without us you would be a year and a half into either the second Gore administration or the first Kerry administration.
States like Kansas and Nebraska and the Dakota's and Utah and Idaho were conservative when conservative wasn't cool. The South is late to the party. Southerners didn't start switching to the GOP until they realized that they could call themselves 'Republican' and still keep their big spending, big government ways.
