Why is it that Gov and big business professionals mismanage funds into bankruptcy and then turn around and think that Joe everyday can do a better job of it?.

Im all for self sufficiency but this crap isn't giving me any confidence in the system

BTW, "ambling" is the writer's word, and probably an appropriate way to describe your path from lawyer to Watergate Minority Counsel to actor to senator to actor. That didn't appear to be a comment on any presentation of policy.

I’m a boomer too. Been paying in since I was 13. Remember when our payroll tax was raised to provide for our retirement? I am mad as @$** that the money was taken and spent leaving an IOU in the Social Security Trust Fund.

If the money could have been invested like the State Teacher’s Retirement was even just during the 80’s and 90’s there would probably be enough that the boomer’s could retire early, and plenty left over for our children’s retirement and medicare/medicaid.
