I don't think so, because the law wasn't in effect at the time the crime was committed. First thing I thought when I saw that law was that we should all "come out of the closet", cuz it throw a major wrench in the works. What they gonna do, prove that you're not what you say you are? Personally, I don't like the idea of "hate crimes", so don't really support feeding that animal, even if it's for one of my "kind".

Imagine if the races were reversed, the media would be playing up this story 24/7 calling for support of the bill ala gun control every time a shooting happens.

No doubt. I wonder if the Vegas cops would have thought twice about beating Sgt. England if he wasn't "just" a white guy.
