GOP Sellout- A senseless giveaway on immigration.
National Review Online ^ | 05/17/07 | Brian Darling

Posted on 05/17/2007 2:41:56 PM PDT by SE Mom

“Sellout.” It may be harsh, but it’s the most accurate and succinct way to sum up how conservatives feel right now about President Bush and Senate Republicans, who have cut a deal that would grant amnesty to the estimated 12 million illegal aliens living in the U.S. — not to mention the parents, spouses, and children of these illegals.

Title VI of a draft copy of the bill breaks down amnesty visas into three categories:

Z-1 — Illegal aliens present and working in the United States up to Jan. 1, 2007. Z-2 — Parents and spouses of illegal aliens qualifying under the Z-1 category. Z-3 — Children of illegal aliens qualifying under the Z-1 category.

These “Z Visa” holders can stay in the “Z” status indefinitely, which means they never have to pursue “a pathway to citizenship.” They also would be able to get Social Security numbers and benefit from some welfare programs. Shockingly, there is no cap on the numbers of amnesty recipients in the draft language. The only thing the Z Visa holder can’t do is vote — until, that is, a liberal judge declares this limitation unconstitutional or until a liberal president can railroad through a “technical corrections” bill.

Behold the power of the burgeoning hispanic voting bloc, and the pathetic sight of languini-spined republicans who cower before its awesome power.

ALL HAIL HISPANIA!!

Although it is probably justified, for his dereliction of duty in enforcing our borders and immigration laws, I don’t think there is the will to do it.

I think as this settles in awhile, the Fit is going to hit the shan with enough Americans, that this will quietly be allowed to die.

*fingers crossed*

As of this minute, I don’t have the words to express how outraged I am. I will have to cool down before calling the schmucks in DC that have turned us into the US of Mexico. I’m sick and tired of walking into stores and seeing signs in English and Spanish; I’m sick and tired of dialing some asinine company and being asked if I want the message in English or Spanish; I’m sick and tired of seeing Mass Transit buses go by with advertising on the side in Spanish. I live in the United States of America; not Mexico! I urge everyone that is as pissed as I am to call your elected moron and have your friends and neighbors call. If these morons aren’t sent home, none of us will have a dime to our name and no freedoms and no rights. After we’re done calling, then we unite to empty the Congress of all these self-serving, power-grabbing schmucks. Send the “DC Royalty” home; their party is over.

To me he is rational on every other issue—I don’t know why he has rose colored glasses on when it comes to immigration.

An ideal system would let anyone come here who has a letter promising a job or who can demonstrate they are not going to go on the dole (i.e. they have money), but would greatly restrict citizenship. That’s how our immigration system functioned up to the mid 1920’s, and it seemed to serve our country pretty well.

People would not be let in just because they felt like moving here if they have no demonstrated means of support.

I agree. There should be no citizenship for these people ever unless they return home and go about it the legal way. I don’t mind them coming here temporarily to work though.

My elected moron is Jim Webb and I seriously think the election was rigged.

We need to start a third party. Although we won’t be able to win now, we will in years to come. And it has to start at the local level. The idea of just running a president is a sure loser.

Yeah, I’ve had to switch back before the last elections.

The Republicans have thrown the conservatives to the wolves and are now competing with the Democratic Party for the liberal vote.

I was hoping that W could be turned around on the borders and illegal immigration

Afraid not. I suspect that he sees the North American Union as his legacy. I can't for the life of me think of any other reason that he would be so bulldog tenacious on this issue.

P.S. Medved did admit he hadn’t gone through it with a fine tooth comb yet. Still, even if includes parents, he’ll support it. I don’t like it even if it doesn’t include parents.

I will NOT vote for any republican who votes for the illegal immigration bill.

It's going to take a lot more than just not voting for someone who supports this. We've been sold like slaves of old. We've been given the giant finger. And they count on us to just sit here and take it like nice little Conservatives.

The whole darned bunch of them need to be replaced. Since I'm not allowed to use the 'I' word, I'll use the 'D' word instead. I want a Divorce from government. [So there!]

Oh, they care alright. McCain wants to be President and he’s going to need every vote he can get.

It certainly WON’T be MINE.
