I have been a freerepublic member for a long time and usually lurk but tonight I find myself in need of your prayers for my unborn son.
During a routine ultrasound at 20 weeks gestation, it appears my little boy's stomach is on his right side rather than his left. The doctor could not give us any more information and is having us see a doctor at the hospital where they have more high tech equipment.
Please pray for this little baby, that all will be well. I have no doubt in the power of prayer. Thank you

Prayers up for you and your baby!
Prayers for this sweet baby, may he be born perfect in every way!
You have my heartfelt prayers for strength and comfort for you, and for healing and protection for your preborn baby boy. The FReeper Prayer Warriors here are the Very Best and are here to help you if and when you need it: all of us.
I recently had a difficult pregnancy to get through, but my FRiends here offered many shoulders to cry on and arms to be held by. I am honored to share that with you, should you need it. We are here for you!
My daughter was told that her baby might not be born normal due to problems with the umbilical cord.
That was three years ago and her daughter is a fine healthy, normal happy girl.
My prayer are with you and your son. Try not to worry. It’s not good for you or your son~
God Bless you!
Father God, we lift this family and their baby up to you, for healing and blessing, in the Name of your Son Jesus! Give them peace and comfort and may everything be made right. Amen!
Prayers gladly sent.
I also went through a difficult pregnancy with lots of testing and ultrasounds. My little guy was born two months early and weighing only two pounds, but my, has he done well! Hang in there. Your little boy will be just fine.
For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the LORD, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.
Jer 29:11
Be calm. God is faithful. Trust Him, no matter what you hear. Be thankful in every circumstance. Your fear will do your baby more harm than the condition. Do not entertain it. Breathe. Pray. Love your baby. All will be well.
May God bless your son with health as He has already blessed him with a loving mother and father, inflorida. You are all in my prayers!
Prayers up for this tiny baby.

I saw a fetal diagnostic specialist yesterday and she confirmed that the stomach is indeed on the right and the baby has what is called situs inversus with levocardia, a very rare genetic condition where the organs go in the exact opposite place that they should. Basically, his abdominal organs are all reversed. All would be well if the heart had also gone to the opposite place but it stayed to the left and instead the vessels are opposite. I won't get too scientific since I still don't fully understand but it comes down to this baby needing heart surgeries and even then, he will never be able to be active like other kids because he will never have enough oxygen running throughout his body, let alone guaranteed to make it to a normal age. He will also be blue-colored.
We are seeing a pediatric cardiologist in one week and from there we will decide if we want to pursue the surgeries or let nature take it's course and let him pass naturally. My father in law is a doctor and the word from him is that this is very, very bad news. They just don't have anything to work with so they will only enlarge certain openings to increase oxygen flow but the blood will still mix. Many kids don't make it past the first couple of years of life with surgery so nothing looks promising. This plays into our difficult decision of what to do.
I am beyond heartbroken. This is the hardest thing I have ever dealt with in my life. My husband and I are very healthy and there is no history of birth defects on either side so we don't understand this. Seems there is something like a 1 in 22,000 chance for this happening. I think even the doctors are dumbfounded because they just don't see this. We don't know what will be but we have decided to start trying for another baby as soon as possible, whether this little boy makes it with us or not. This baby took us nearly two years to conceive so I am not sure what hope we have left for future babies. We will both get genetic testing done soon too and counseling to discuss the odds of this happening again, although we have already been told it is highly unlikely to occur a second time. This is truly a freak of nature.
Please pray for us. I want to do what is right for this baby boy. Thank you
