Part of Movement of DNC to ELIMINATE the electoral College system - going on all over the country and winning in Dem controlled legislatures!
Evidently publicity about this pending vote in the NC Senate re: abolishing the Electoral College in NC forced the vote to not happen on May 10 - but was supposed to happen today, May 14.
Have been unable to find out if it did happen. Called local news program and they didn't know anything about it and saw no purpose in reporting about this issue - BEFORE THE VOTE.
Need to get the word out to NC Voters in order to encourage calls to NC Senate to their state Senators to vote this bill down. It's a "movement" around the country to do away with the electoral college because of the past two elections.

Eliminating the Electoral College is a Hillary dream come true.

SOOOO, the the people of NC are tired of having any voice at all in government I see.
Apparently they want Chicago, the Boston area, LA and about three other metropolitan areas to decide the election.

They might as well just set fire to the US Constitution, they are trashing it all the time. If they get rid of elec. college the big cities which all have strong majority of liberals will select all future presidents and the rest of the USA might as well not even vote. NYC, SF, LA, Etc will choose all the future presidents.

Can anyone explain to me why we need to get all in a dither about this? Should North Carolina, or any state, pass such a bill it would be unconstitutional according to Artiele II and the 12th Amendment of the Constitution.
The Federal Government cannot/will not allow any state to circumvent the Federal election process. That will take an amendment to the Constitution.

Eliminating electoral college is a plain & simply invitation to stealing elections by fraud. All you need is a little more corruption than you already have in Demonrat strongholds, a little more creative ballot reading and get-out-the-dead-vote, and you can kiss “democracy” good-bye.

Then tell me why Wyoming...or North Dakota....or Delaware... or Rhode Island OR MASSACHUSETTS have 2 senators??

So under this scenario, Maryland, New York, California and Illinois would have happily cast their electors for George Bush in 2004, the winner of the national popular vote?? Unlikely. The states that pass this are essentially giving up their representation in the temporary legislature that is the Electoral College.
Hopefully, the normal, healthy inter-state jealousies will rise again to defeat these measures. Otherwise, we will cease to be a republic of republics and become a democracy with convenient subdivisions known as states.

The popular vote is the only way to give proper and fair weight to the dead and illegal alien voters.
If California was a heavily Republican state, the Dems would be fighting tooth and nail to keep the Electoral College.

Guess the Rats forgot Bush won big in the popular vote , but COULD have lost in the electoral college with a change in Ohio or Florida. Also projections in 2000 before the election showed Gore in a similar situation of possibly winning the electoral and losing the popular vote. There was even a talking point by the DNC about the need to respect the "process".

Let them vote till their hearts are content. It is a meaningless vote. No state can do away with the electoral college. It takes a Constitutional amendment to do that.
And if a state decided to actually pass legislation, and a governor sign legislation that removes the state from the electoral college, they will have just eliminated the state from voting for President. Real smart move.

I heard about this on WPTF out of Raleigh last night on the way home. Our only hope is that the house does not vote down party lines the way the senate did. I have no hope with our POS Governor. If the dem’s succeed in doing away with the Electoral College system, what’s next, doing away with the Senate? The Republic is standing on thin ice.
