TAMPA, Fla., May. 14 (UPI) -- A 25-year-old man was killed last weekend in Brandon, Fla., after his girlfriend's ex-husband allegedly stabbed him with a samurai sword in a fit of rage.
The St. Petersburg (Fla.) Times said Monday that Lee Alexander died last weekend outside Jacqueline Tarpley's home after the woman's estranged husband allegedly used a sword to stab him as he attempted to flee in his car.
Willie Tarpley Jr. allegedly went to her home to protect their two daughters after he heard his wife's new boyfriend was a registered sex offender, the newspaper said.
Initially he reportedly threatened Alexander with the sword but then allegedly stabbed him after Alexander hit his car while trying to drive away.
The 46-year-old maintained afterward that the killing was accidental, his neighbor Lana Garcia told the Times.
Tarpley was held in a Tampa, Fla., jail in after being charged with second-degree murder and aggravated battery with a deadly weapon.
The newspaper said that Tarpley and his wife are also registered sex offenders. The Times said that in 1987, the couple was convicted and served prison sentences for sexually torturing a 21-year-old woman in Fort Lauderdale, Fla.

It’s simple: a registered sex offender killed his registered sex offender wife’s new registered sex offender boyfriend.

Lots of twists and turns in that story. Let's run through the whole thing. In the first paragraph, you are thinking that we need to implement sword control. After the fourth paragraph, you change your mind and begin to think it was perhaps justified. Ah, but then there is paragraph 6 when you learn that they all are registered sex offenders and start wondering where you can get your sword.

One scumbag dead and another locked away. That worked out well.

Alexander was a teenager when he was convicted in 2000 of a lewd and lascivious act on a person under 16. Man, this is a twisted one. They're all offenders, but the victims offense may not have necessarily been predatory in nature (boyfriend/girlfriend, angry parent) who knows. Screwed up bunch, the lot of them.
