Not that this necessarily means a whole lot, but it's worth noting. According to the official state party report on Saturday's annual statewide auction dinner:
Fred Thompson was the runaway winner, taking half of all votes cast. Clearly the other candidates have some work to do to match the support that former Sen. Thompson is receiving from grassroots activists. ... Fred Thompson 50% Mitt Romney 16% Rudy Giuliani 15% Duncan Hunter 10% John McCain 5% Tom Tancredo 1% Tommy Thompson 1% Mike Huckabee 1% Newt Gingrich <1%

No, you missed:
Doesn't have a fire in his belly.
Doesn't like to campaign.
Looks old.
Played a racist in a movie.
That about covers it all. ;)

Newt lost me a long while ago, but now that he's Al Gore's Global Warming buddy, he can clear off.

You haven't been watching very close here. This comes up on nearly every Fred Thompson thread.

You are correct, I try harder but note the tagline.

IIRC, Fred disavowed it years ago, towards the end of his second Senate term (i.e. before Jan. 2003).

Good. We dont want you to support Thompson, considering how your vitriolic support for Duncan Hunter drives people away from him. That is so true. I like Duncan Hunter, I really do. But there's just something about Bushfamfan's vitriolic repetition of previously-refuted nonsense, over and over and over and over again, that just makes me want to not like Hunter, stupid as that sounds.
To: Titus Quinctius Cincinnatus
I like Thompson and Hunter. I’d be happy to see either a Hunter/Thompson or Thompson/Hunter ticket.
