Fred Thompson was the runaway winner, taking half of all votes cast. Clearly the other candidates have some work to do to match the support that former Sen. Thompson is receiving from grassroots activists. ... Well, after Fred announced that he was taken, all the good women just decided to stop dating. They all go to bed alone every night in their Fred Thompson feety pajamas.

This is frankly insulting to women, assuming that they are somehow going to be irresistably attracted to Hillary, regardless of her politics or their's JUST because she's a SHE. In my observation of the opposite sex, I frankly see women judge one another MORE harshly than than they do men. Judging all women by feminist standards is not only unfair, it's incorrect.

Also (for reasons I frankly don't understand) lots of women seem to think Fred is "hot". So when you're predicting the still far off election with your Dickie Morris brand sliderule, don't forget to figure in the "hot-ness" factor.

I credit my 13 year marriage to Mrs. Shutterspeed for these observations;-)

I used to think that Newt was the most qualified to be President but his baggage is too heavy and he has sucked up to Hillary at different times, plus some of his current views leave a lot to be desired. The difference with Fred and even with Newt, is he speaks with the least amount White Noise. His leadership qualities are his clear thinking and then his delivering in words those clear views. Many American are sick with the White Noise speeches. They want to understand why their government is doing what it is doing. If you want the best candidate then focus on who can win against Hillary or Obama and speak to the real America. They will come out if they understand what is at stake.
