Tunes For The Troops
This week we have some progresive music from the late 60's thru the 80's. Next week we'll move along to the 90's & 2000's along with some progressive metal music.
Progressive rock, sometimes shortened to prog or prog rock, is a subgenre of rock music which arose in the mid-to-late 1960s, reached the peak of its popularity in the 1970s and has continued as a form of popular music to this day. It is commonly associated with symphonic rock and art rock.
The selections below are just a sampling. This music is provided for the entertainment of our Troops, Veterans, Allies & their families!
Enjoy the varity of musical selections that the Canteen Deejays have provided throughout the thread. Please ping LaurenMarlowe with your requests for the Troops.
All music is removed on Monday. Thanks to all the DeeJay's for their time & effort providing entertainment for the Troops!
*Canteen Mission Statement*
Showing support and boosting the morale of our military and our allies military and the family members of the above. Honoring those who have served before. |

Not even a ripple here in Kansas City. Greensburg is about 250 to 300 miles south and west of KC on US 54.
Hope all the folks down there are okay.
Off to work I go, mumble mumble

Thank-you for posting this thread on classic rock. Last weekend it was good to read up about southern rock. Alabama I knew was a country and western band but never thought it also did southern rock. Great to get to know the band the Georgia Satilites.

I have a massive 2:30minute commute to work when I drive. When I walk it takes me about 30 to 35 minutes. As soon as I get me a new pair of hikers I will be back on the Wolverine Express, yee haa!!!
Nothing on the Greenburg tornado here in KC that I could find with a quick look but the Witcha TV has some news. It doesn’t look very good for them folks. Sounds like Greenburg is pretty much destroyed.
