New brutal rape rattles Oslo Police were searching Friday for a man who badly beat and raped a 48-year-old woman in Oslo's Grünerløkka district at around 4am. The same area was hit by a string of rapes earlier this year.

Police said the assailant had African features, as did the suspect in last winter’s rape cases, but they’re not sure yet whether the same rapist is involved.
The assault occurred near a student housing complex on Nordregata, close to the Aker River. The victim managed to make her way to a nearby convenience store, where staff called for an ambulance.
"It was a brutal attack, and the woman was left with major injuries," said Stig Tonsjø of the Oslo Police District. She suffered a broken cheekbone and other facial injuries when she said her attacker threw her up against a concrete wall.
Police issued an appeal for anyone who was in the area to contact police. They were hoping to track down passersby who might have seen a man fitting the attacker’s description.
Three women were assaulted in the area in February, and police issued an artist's rendering of the suspect at the time. Police said it was too early to know whether they’re now searching for the same man.
"We don't have a full description yet, other than that he was African and was wearing some white headphones," Tonsjø said.
Police investigating Friday's rape can be contacted at 22 66 94 30 during the day, or 22 66 99 66 in the evening.

I don’t think it is the case of a criminal underclass, this is a cultural thing. These scumbags believe that scandinavian women have had sex before and therefore are open season to them, the same thing seems to be happening in the rest of Europe as well as Australia . Its not a criminal underclass problem..its a Muslim problem. When will people/countries finally reach final meltdown and a) stop all this imigration and b)take care of the scum already on their soil.

As for the answer, cajungirl is right. She will have performed a valuable service to society, and she might suffer repercussions from reporting her defense to the cops, but not reporting it would be a crime.

My interpretation of a place where people are not threatened by others is heaven. I am not willing to try and move there any time sooner that I have to.
I would not convict. When a person is attacked you do not have the luxury of opting for the minimum force. (Well occasionally a person does.) But when you use the element of surprise, as in using a handful of cayenne pepper, you can not always be sure that the person is blinded for more than a second or two. Also, when you stab and then slash with a kitchen knife, you may or may not finish the job. If your pepper did not work and the knife stab/slash is not proper, you may end up in a very bad way.
The reason she might walk away is because a jury, who is not under any threat whatsoever, may very well decide as you did.
I am curious, how many years would you put her in jail?
If you would only convict, and not put her in jail, you are removing her from ever taking part in scouts, or any activity having to do with children. She would definitely be barred from purchasing a firearm.
