A Day in the Life of President Bush (photos): 05-03-07

Today the President attended the National Day of Prayer ceremony in the East Room of the White House. ( NOTE FROM SNUGS: In my opinion I have never heard such a powerful Christian message by any public figure let us a world leader that the President gave today - see quote of the day.)

He also addressed a meeting on immigration and assimilation at the Asamblea de Iglesias Cristianas, Centro Evangelistico in Washington, D.C.

The White House announced today that the Vice President will make a 6 day trip to the Middle East next week to meet with Arab leaders and speak with U.S. troops in the Persian Gulf region. Scheduled stops include Saudi Arabia, Egypt, Jordan and the United Arab Emirates. It is only just over two months after the Vice President's globe-circling journey that may have contributed to a blood clot in his leg so this must be encouraging news that this is no longer a major concern to his doctors for him to be making such a trip.

Today Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice is at an international conference on Iraq in Sharm el-Sheikh, Egypt.

Today Secretary of Defense Robert Gates greets troops returning home for a two-week leave at the Dallas-Fort Worth International Airport in Grapevine, Texas and he also spoke at a luncheon in Dallas.

Enjoy your visit to Sanity Island

LOL! You are too funny! I remember that day...thanks for reminding me. I’m just too busy these days to spend much time on FR what with some work, two boys in high school, one graduating in 5 weeks, two households to maintain and spruce up for an onslaught of relatives, and tennis. I still lurk and think of you and everyone often. Thanks again for the birthday wish.

You fell in love? How did that go?

As Dolly Parton said in Steel Magnolias, ‘I just love romance.’

MamaB, I’m sure you’ve had a lot of comforting reassurance by now about your plans, but I just wanted to add that I think the woman was incredibly nosy and rude, and I will not say she meant well.

I admire you so much for being able to enjoy yourself after all you’ve gone through in the last few years.

Put her comments totally out of your mind and have fun!!

I think it’s great.

I just love romance too! And, in the words of Kathleen Turner in Romancing the Stone, “I’m not a hopeless romantic, I’m a hopeful one”.

It’s still going well - ups and downs of course, he travels alot (which actually works well for me), he loves me, I love him. There are a lot of outside problems, but so far, love has conquered all!

It’s gonna be hard for Prez not to touch Liz...he’s a very touchy kind of guy.

(I’ll bet she’d really like it—at least secretly—if he did it!)

I don’t think you can see the Smithsonian in one day.

It is so fascinating one is tempted to keep on going, but my husband and I did that and suddenly, while we were standing in front of an antique airplane, we looked at each other and realized we were on the verge of collapse.

Our hotel was only a few blocks away, but we took a cab!

LOL
