Jim Geraghty has another Fred Thompson update (one in a continuing series).
And, from my inbox my Brit post last night only made some love Thompson more:
On the Brit's dissing of Thompson....I could be wrong, but I read this as a snobby European thing.
Europe has much in common with American liberals in that Republicans are generally seen as stupid, and Republican actors are particularly stupid (especially as they don't see the liberal light that the rest of the arts community does).
This is the same stuff Reagan had to put up with..."stupid, vapid actors."
Ironically, Thompson is both more intelligent and more accomplished outside Hollywood than any of his detractors.
I must have missed it. What is the new anti FR site? Former Freepers of the “moderate” stripe? Bushbots?
I take what a Brit says about Americans about as seriously as a Muslim telling me what pork to buy. F-ck the Poms and SCOTTISH INDEPENDENCE NOW! ;-)

Er ah, yes, we knew that way back during the 2004 elections Fred. Were you napping?”
No Fred was on the case. You must have been the one napping.
Citizens United President David Bossie complained that liberal financier George Soros “has declared war on President Bush and his positive agenda for America.” Bossie promised to do everything within his power to “run counter-ads in support of the President.”
Fred thompson recorded two of those TV counter-ads (”Courage” and “Soldier”) for Citizens United in response to the Soros-funded MoveOn.org ads which were attacking President Bush and the war effort.
“Courage” was produced in March 2003, narrated by former Sen. Thompson, who praised President Bush for invading Iraq. “Thank goodness we have a president with the courage to protect our country,” Thompson said in the ad.

Today’s word, OldFriend, is “hubris”. Can you say that - hubris?
Fred Thompson is not, repeat not, being coy! He is developing a solid, credible, and hopefully unbeatable team of support from which to launch his campaign.
By waiting he differentiates himself from the other glad handing, money grovelling, politicians. When he launches, I predict it will be a campaign, sucessful of not, that will shake American politics for years to come.
I believe he will launch with a fully fleshed out agenda and set of principles, and perhaps a few of this key Cabinet positions already named. He is not a panderer. He will not campaign in the normal sense. He will tell the American public how he views the challanges we face, his program to get about solving them and leave it to the American public to decide. Sure he will travel, make speeches, kiss a few babies....but basically he will not pander to this group or that....he will have an agenda. You will buy it or you won't. He's not going to flip-flop to please any one group.
The contrast between Thompson and anyone else will be stark!!
A woman is happy when she has her own bathroom, closet and a private place that she can do what she likes with. And men too. I've seen a seven-eight room house in West Hills, CA, which is typical upper class around here. I can't see $2M for a house like that. It's about the same in Hollywood Hills, etc.
I like Fred because he left government several times to do what he wants to do. That's a good thing.
“Poor Fred, looks like someone from the cast of the Munsters.”
Are you sure you are not thinking of John Kerry, who looks like Lurch?
Thank you!
