Mitt Romney's campaign has removed his account from the popular social-networking website, Facebook.
There has also been questions whether presidential candidates using Facebook violates any of the campaign finance act disclosure requirements.

Facebook being free, I don’t see the problem.

Maybe he was getting too many offers from Mormon women to be another wife for him.

Thoughts?

The McShame-Slimeroad Lieberal Protection Act has unintended consequences (which will, of course, be ignored by the DhimmiRATs).

Whatever else you may say about Mitt, he has been happily married to his one sweetheart for well over 30 years.

Attempts to label him in any way as some kind of polygamist, or his religion, which excommunicates known, or admitted polygamists from its membership, are pretty lame IMHO.

No attempts to label Mitt anything were made.

Take a chill pill pal, it was a joke.

Disclosure requirements? Hmmm... I guess I’d have to see more about the fine lines they’re combing through on this one.

I will say that I got my Romanian friend curious about Romney when she saw him on my myspace friend list. She loved his speeches. Not that it’s going to convert into votes for him. :)

“Well, it’s breaking news to at least one person...”

It is big news. I wonder if tomorrow news will break that Mitt has a yahoo chat account?

No prob...even though I am not supporting Mitt (his new found conservatism is still a bit too new for me), there are still lots of folks taking shots at him that are not warrented and who are serious enough about it.

If you weren't...fair enough. No harm either way.

Fregards.

UPDATE: Word is that it was a Facebook technical glitch.

Still it raises an interesting questions about new media and current campaign laws. Youtube, Facebook, and blogs like this all provide a greater flow of information. I just wonder how long until politicians try to muzzle this new median of speech.

I am curious can a interest group or corporation post commercials, etc., on youtube and blogs with in the 60 and 30 day moratorium that applies to television? From what I understand is the FEC is not going to regulate these new media venues. If that is the case then what is the point of prohibiting them interest groups from using TV as well?

What if another Obama 1984 type ad hits, can news programs show the complete ads on TV within the 60 and 30 blackout?

If it's aired on "the news" it would probably be exempted from McCain-Feingold

As for the whole ad black out issue, it is currently being litigated before the Supreme Court. Wisconsin Right to Life v. FEC will be decided this year. I suspect this part of the law gets thrown out.

No problemo.

I don't and won't support Mitt for a number of reasons, one being his propensity to flip flop on key issues. I see him as a clear opportunist.
