Tuesday, May 1:
EXCLUSIVE! Former Tennessee Senator Fred Thompson sits down with us tonight. Will he or won't he enter the 2008 presidential race?
Mitt Romney, Michael Steele, or Mark Sanford would all make good Veep candidates...
Imagine Sanford on the ticket - Fred/Sanford ‘08! ;-)
Um...I agree the “ousting” was wrong, but JimRob himself posted “Run Fred Run” on THIS THREAD...
Fred made it abundantly clear that all of this stuff *right now* is preliminary...Alan will get his chance later on. All in it’s own time. :-)
Thank you! :-)
Amend it a bit:
Fred 47.4%
Hillary 39.1%
Algore 11.9%
If Al Gore enters as a Green, Fred wins every Bush state plus:
CA (lots of greenies vote for Algore)
CT
NH
VT (again, the enviros)
MD
WA
OR
PA
MI
/wishful thinking
You think people should be able to curse at Jim, ignore warnings, and support infanticide without repercussions?
Not at all. I wasn’t there for most of it, I’ll admit, but it seemed a bit extreme.
It’s Jim’s site though.
From your tone, you apparently aren’t aware that Sean has been a border hawk. He’s been very clear about that. He didn’t “quickly change the subject” from that discussion to divert Thompson away from something he didn’t agree with.
I think Fred is VERY smart to be holding off until much closer to the primaries.
I believe that even if FredT announces in JANUARY, he will easily obtain the Republican nomination. In fact, it may well be that the later he announces, the better.
You don’t listen to Sean’s radio show, I guess.
He has been vocal about supporting life, marriage=heterosexual, and border security. He challenged Rudy on all these items during the interview a couple weeks ago.
“...he has his priorities in order: God, family, country...

PRECISELY!
“We somehow survived the 90s, but I dont think we will survive another round of that, even if its 4 years, under the circumstances that we are in the struggle for our very existence with radical Islam.”

I could not agree more. I spoke nearly those exact words to my 10yo this morning.
Now, THAT is a pair of bumper stickers I NEED!
No I don’t listen to Sean, I was however defending him from someone who said he wasn’t pro-life by saying he was.
I felt the same way. He did a good job but Sean didn’t give him anything to use to distinguish himself.
I think Sean’s motivations on this interview and from his show are very telling. I think he did the interview reluctantly because it was a ratings thing, I don’t think he supports Thompson at all and is a bit resentful of what he is doing to Rudy in the polls and gives FT coverage after dragging his heels.
The interview left me more disappointed in Sean than Fred.
However, Fred Thompson takes the Stephen Douglas approach on abortion: just leave it up to the states (that, from a prior Hannity radio interview).
That’s not very pro-life, just as it wasn’t abolitionist.
Would hardly get the job done, regarding our foremost right.
Thursday before Labor Day, or one week before Thanksgiving, I think would be even better. He could announce in January, and still win the nomination, I believe.
Hannity’s support of Giuliani is truly twisted.
Hannity needs sanity.
Sean fired tough questions at Rudy in radio interviews. He’s not Rudy-crazy... for sure.
