The Warren County Sheriff's Office says its seeks the public's assistance in locating two elderly women from Warren County.
Mary Ellen Walters, 68, and Ada Wasson, 80, were last seen last Thursday April 19th at Otterbein Retirement Living Community located at State Routes 741 and 63 in Warren County. The two women live in the Patio Homes section, which is an independent living area.
They are believed to be in Mrs. Wasson's silver 2000 Chevrolet Impala bearing Ohio registration DG 30 LC. The women were believed to have been traveling to a JC Penney outlet center either in Columbus, Ohio or Carrollton, Ky.
Friends and neighbors alerted sheriffs detectives Sunday that the women had not returned when expected.
Detectives have not been able to locate any record of their whereabouts after leaving home. There has been no activity on any gas or credit cards belonging to the women.
Foul play is not suspected at this time, but police are concerned for the womens safety.
Major John Newsom said detectives have exhausted most of their investigative options.
We just need the publics help at this point, he said.

UPDATE
There will be a search Friday, Saturday and Sunday, April 27, 28, 29 - anywhere 50 miles east or west of I-71 from Columbus to Carrollton, KY. Grab a map, some posters and stake out a plot of territory to search. They could truly be anywhere.
Travel the roads less travelled and go down dirt roads and look down long driveways to abandoned homes. It would be great to hang a poster on "No Outlet" signs after driving down dead end roads so as to alert others that the road has already been searched.
Take a couple bottles of water and a snack in case you find them! They'll be thirsty and hungry!
For more information, or to print some posters, go to www.neighborsearch.info
A $5000 reward is being offered by the Warren County Sheriff's Office.
Thank you.

I suggest we start calling or emailing all the media within 50 miles of Otterbien Retirement Home, Columbus, Carrollton, and routes between. We need to ask the media to broadcast the suggestion that farmers and owners of rural property(including vacant property) search their own property for these ladies. The media has done it before with positive results.
I live off 741 in Moraine (just south of Dayton). I am going to start sending emails tonight. This is something positive we can all do.
I live in SW Pennsylvania, just over the Ohio border. I will keep a look out for Ohio plates then the car description.
Good Luck!!
I sent emails to WDTN (Dayton area) and WLWT (Cincinnati)asking for their help in reminding their viewers that Ada and Mary Ellen are still missing. Also, to help get people in rural areas to search.
I will keep sending emails to every station in or near the search area.
Son of a gun, I live off 741 south of the Mall!
Hi neighbor.
Hi neighbor,
I started a thread on “speak up” at daytondailynews.com. Someone replied that “hubby” was a truck driver in the area these women were missing in. Said he would “BOLO” for them.
I am not familiar with the term “BOLO” ;but, it obviously means more people looking.
Be on the lookout?
Doctor, any media contacts in this area that you could give to Bartholomew?
Be On the Look Out
Another trucker’s spouse just replied to the thread on Speak Up at daytondailynews.com. Husband drives in Cincy and Kentucky area. He will pass the word to other truckers.
Last night channel 7 and tonight channel 22 said they were concentrating the search on HAMILTON and WEST DAYTON. I understand the Hamilton; but, why WEST DAYTON? WEST DAYTON isn’t anywhere near where they live or were going to shop!
Actually, they might be in west Dayton. If no harm has come to them, they could be anywhere in the USA, providing they have the cash on hand. Or, they might be a mile or so away. You never know about the elderly who have dementia. Many can be quite cunning, and smart little cookies!
Is this area anywhere near Amish people that might see them?
Noone said anything about them having dementia.
WEST DAYTON is an extremely dangerous place for two elderly WHITE women. It is a high crime area that is almost all black. White’s are resented there. They would have known this.
THEY WOULD NEVER HAVE GONE THERE BY THEMSELVES!!! This sounds more like the result of a carjacking or robbery.
Hamilton maybe. West Dayton no. Amish people I have met usually live in rural areas or small towns They are too smart to go to an extremely dangerous place like west Dayton.
Amish people might see them anywhere from Dayton to several miles beyond Carrollton, Kentucky.
Amish people might be the ones to find them because the women preferred country roads. Actually, it is possible that Amish people might have found them without the rest of us knowing. Some Amish people do not have phones or cars. It could be awhile before they got word to the family or police.
I hope these two lovely women are found alive and well.
There’s so much to search on their route. Lots of bodies of water, too.
This might make some of you want to get your elderly mom a cellphone for Mother’s Day. It is a very practical gift, and could save her life.
This is indeed a prayer emergency for these two women.
May God be with them in this ordeal. Hopefully they had some food and water with them in the car.
Two weeks is a long time for elderly persons to be missing.
Please take the time to read the information and responses from the family. They did not “keep getting lost.” They had gotten lost before and found their own way home. Obviously, they know how to solve that kind of problem. EVERYONE GETS LOST SOMETIMES. This does not mean “dementia.” I know elderly people in their eighties and nineties who are sharper mentally than many young people.
It has been said repeatedly that they have physical problems and could not walk far to get help. They may have had car trouble, or run off the road where brush hides them from view, or are stuck at the end of some dirt road. They are very unlikely to go to west Dayton themselves. It is too far off their route. They live close enough to Dayton to have heard the news reports of the violence in west Dayton. That is why I am wondering why the search would concentrate part of its efforts on west Dayton. Has the search expanded or did they receive a tip that has not been given to the public?
Brad, appreciate that you are keeping us informed. Will continue to pray for Ada and Mary Ellen and for you and all those searching for them and all those affected by this.
God bless,
jm
