Well, only the British would have known... wouldn’t they... :-)
Active little imagination you have there, Sparky...
My point was that there seems to be a double standard. Homosexuality is much more culturally acceptable if its between women rather than men. I believe that we can thank pornographers and the media for that.
That doesn't look like a security video pic either.
So you think that a underage daughter has no rights to privacy what so ever? Do you have children?
Ummm..., I was reading your comments on this thread and then noticed that little tag line.
“Muslims, Jews and Christians all believe in the same God of Abraham”
You know that’s totally false. I mean, if you were to ask the people of these faiths and beliefs, they would all tell you no. A Muslim would tell you no; a Jew would tell you no; a Christian would tell you no.
However, you might ask someone who was “on the outside” and looking in — to those various faiths, and this “outsider” might say that. There are a lot of “outsiders” who have that false concept.
For one, the Muslims believe that their “line” of faith and belief goes through Ishmael. They say that it was Abraham, Ishmael and so on to Mohammed. And the Muslims would refuse to accept the God of the Jews. Why?
Well, very simply, the Jews *very specifically* have defined their God as the “God of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob.” And with each one of those patriarchs, in the Bible, that God, has promised the Jews an *unending possession* and title to the land of Israel, and that they would have the Messiah of Israel come through *that line*.
Now, the Muslims *know* that the Jews make this claim and that it’s through Isaac. And *they*, themselves reject it. And also, the Jews know that the Muslims make the claim that their line come through Ishmael, and *they* reject that.
In addition to that — we see that the “God of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob” is a God who says that he has given an everlasting inheritence to the Jews, in the land of Israel and that He will never forsake that promise and it’s theirs in “perpetuity”.
On the other hand, the god of “Abraham, Ishmael and Mohammed” (Allah), says that the Jews are to be all killed in the last days. He says that even the trees will holler out and say that there is a Jews behind it and to come and kill that Jew.
So, we have — right there — *two different gods* — One who promise to protect and preserve the Jews and to give them the land of Israel in perpetuity — and — another god who promises to kill every last single Jew on earth, at that day spoken about in the Koran.
Just by *that* alone — we can see it’s obvious that we’re not talking about the same God. Is he a “schizophrenic” god? Is he a god that tells one people “I’ll protect you and give you this forever” — and then — tell another people, “I want you to kill every last single Jew on this earth, either now or at that prescribed time.”
That’s absolutely *ridiculous* to say that it’s the same God. Totally a false and ridiculous idea — perpetrated by those who have no knowledge.
As for the Christians, they *also* come from the God of “Abraham, Isaac and Jacob” and they, too understand that the promises given to Abraham and to Isaac and to Jacob (whom God named “Israel”) — are *permanent* and never to be revoked.
So, the Christians also understand the God of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob is a completely different God than the one of Ishmael and Mohammed. In fact, by the *description* given to the God of Ishmael and Mohammed (Allah), we see that this particular god fits the *definition* of the “evil and destructive” ways of Satan, as described by God (the God of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob).
Thus, no intelligent person believes that they are the same god. One is the true Creator God, and the other is simply Satan, who masqueredes and pretends to be god (i.e., “Allah”).
You said — “My point was that there seems to be a double standard. Homosexuality is much more culturally acceptable if its between women rather than men. I believe that we can thank pornographers and the media for that.”
—
Well, I’m not so sure it was initially an idea that pornographers and the media perpetuated. I’m not talking about the lesbians or the passionate kissing and/or other things related to that.
I mean that it appears to me that over a long period of time, decades and centuries in the past, that women were probably more close and feeling towards each other than men ever were. I am just guessing that this had always been an accepted understanding, that although men would never be as close and as affectionate, women would naturally display that, and so it would not be considered as surprising — not that it would be lesbianism, though.
So, that’s what I was wondering, by the question, if it seemed that a closer relationship and bond did exist with women that ever had with men — or at least, they would express it much differently than women were inclined to do.
Anyway, that’s the question I was wondering of the women...
And mind you, I was not talking about the rush down “pornography lane” that we see today. I’m talking about a sort of thing that may have existed for a very long time — if anyone could confirm that...
Physical privacy.....yes,
But Ultimate privacy leads us down the road to the 32 pipe bombs in Klebold and Harris (columbine) or Kipland Kinkel (first school shooter)
Do all Christians believe in the same God? Do the Baptists, Mormons, Jehovah Witnesses and Catholics believe in the same God?
Do you even see the point I am trying to make?
bet he has a ton of porn on his home computer....
You said — “Do you even see the point I am trying to make?”
—
Well, when I read this phrase, “Muslims, Jews and Christians all believe in the same God of Abraham” — I do understand that point very well.
But, maybe what you’re trying to say, instead, is “No one believes in the same God, much less the God of Abraham.”
Maybe that’s the point. If so, just change the wording a bit, and then everyone will get your point...
.
Oh, and by the way, do you see that the *actual facts* of the matter shows that indeed, there is no similar god between Islam and Judaism (to say nothing of Christianity)? And also, that there *never will be* — no matter what some people (outside) may wish for?
The bottom line here is *very simply* that the God of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob will destroy and completely obliterate the so-called god, Allah — or vice versa. There is no accomodation and there never will be — ever.
So then you would be all for reading your daughters journal without her permission? I think that children's rights is not a one case fits all. The rights of a toddler are far different than a 17 year old women.
I am not saying that children have all the rights of adults, they don't. They do have rights though, even if some have to be earned.
“...such invasive rules on kids almost out of the house anyway frequently produces bitter children that will remain bitter towards their parents for the remainder of their days.”
Respectfully disagree. If the parents run a tight ship with strict rules from the cradel to the free world of 18, these teens will grow in their respect for their parents and become healthy, happy, productive adults.
Its when you decide at age 14 or 15 that its time to start being a parent that you will run into the scenario you noted.
Child privacy should be a privilege based on maturity and proven trustworthiness.
The United Nations, the ACLU and others in the axis of evil strive to make it a right. Being a zero sum game, any legislated ‘rights’ for children are losses of parental rights, yet the parents are legally and morally held responsible.
This is a war. Pick sides carefully.
Isn’t Christ the God of the Old Testament? Yet you say that the Jews who wrote the Old Testament don’t believe in the God of the Old Testament? Could the Jews be wrong? The same goes for the Muslims, they believe in the Old Testament too.
Or are you saying that your very narrow interpretation of the Old Testament is correct and that everyone else's interpretation is wrong?
I have kids. I watch them and what they do, and with whom. Woe to the person who interferes with me.
several times.
You are absolutely correct. The problem is that this is a grey area. Some 14 year olds are more mature and responsible than their parents, but the exception doesn't make the rule.
More laws are not the answer, and we shouldn't expect them to be. Free men do not need a Bill of Rights to be free.
You asked — “Do all Christians believe in the same god?”
The Christians do, the non-Christians don’t. You can find these defined in many Christian theology and aplogetics information sites — the ones that deal with historic Christianity as exemplified by the Christian church over the many centuries.
And what you are now very clearly showing up, is that your statement — “Muslims, Jews and Christians all believe in the same God of Abraham” — is simply a *totally false statement*. It’s very clear that they do not believe in the same God.
.
And then — “Isnt Christ the God of the Old Testament? Yet you say that the Jews who wrote the Old Testament dont believe in the God of the Old Testament? Could the Jews be wrong? The same goes for the Muslims, they believe in the Old Testament too.”
The Muslims will strongly disagree with you that they believe in the God of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob. They *absolutey* do not. The God of the Scriptures of the Old Testament is stated as the God of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob, as for each of those patriarchs, He continued the promise made to Abraham, and for his descendent through the “line of the promise” — which is through Isaac and Jacob (whose name is “Israel”).
The Muslims *totally reject* this. Their god as described from Mohammed and from the Koran is a god who *hates the Jews and the Christians. And the god of Islam is a god who wants to see every last single Jew in the world killed.
On the other hand, the God of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob is the God who says He will preserve and protect a remnant of Israel and put them back in their land (which has happened thus far) and that He grants them a sole right to that land in perpetuity — and no one will ever take it away or ever remove Israel, as a nation, from His presence.
And so, the God of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob protects Israel —and the god of Islam, Allah, hates Israel and will kill all Jews.
No one in their right mind thinks this is the same god....
—
As far as Jesus is concerned, the Muslims *deny* that Jesus ever died on the cross, and for the Christians, it is said in the Bible that if Jesus did not die on the cross (some pagans back then tried to say that...) — then a Christian’s faith was *totally useless* and a farce.
So, here we have the Muslim saying that Jesus did not die on the cross (thereby removing the *very basis* of Jesus’ salvation for Christians), while Christians say that if this is so — there is basically no such thing as Christianity (of course, Christians do maintain that Jesus died on the cross).
Once again — you trying to “merge” a bunch of *totally disparate* beliefs and trying to say that they are all the same — is *totally ludicrous* and exemplifies either the *greatest fraud* of all time — or the biggest ignorance of all time....
Good for you and I understand your sentiment completely.
What about the bad parents, the pedophiles, should they be interfered with? Do their children have rights?
Like I said I don't believe this is a one case fits all scenario. Sadly I don't have the wisdom of Solomon.
