Lost amid the anxiety surrounding the tainted U.S. pet food supply is this sobering reality: It's not just pet owners who should be worried. The uncontrolled distribution of low-quality imported food ingredients, mainly from China, poses a grave threat to public health worldwide.

Yep...the kook in me thinks all this has been a bio-war test run. Problem is, that kook's been right about a lot of things over the years.

Tea and spices from the Orient, imagine! No wonder our forefathers and all dead.

“I love oranges! And they’re still ‘Made In America’!” - Don’t count on it.

That's why if the citrus isn't from my own backyard I insist on it being labeled as 100% Florida orange juice.

As an interesting side note on an unrelated topic, I remember seeing orange groves throughout central Florida and know there were orange groves in north Florida. Now, if you really want to see the groves you need to go to south Florida. Hard freezes helped push the groves south. So much for global warming.

Being a denizen of Chester County right on the border with Lancaster County, I have sampled a few and I much prefer Dunkin Donuts. The sausage and pepper sandwiches, however, are without parallel.

Perhaps the pet food contaminations were a test run or just an accident,

From what I've read the melamine was most likely added intentionally to boost the apparent protein content of the gluten when tested.

“...Ever since Anita Bryant spoke out against the homosexual agenda and the American citrus growers dropped her...”

Yep the sure gave the Robert Bork treatment to Anita. I was shocked at how Americans laughed at her and her pie-in-the-face treatment from the pervs. Anita had feet of clay like us all but...she also put principles above her career. The orange growers should still be ashamed of themselves.

Sadly, to wake up the masses to this potential crisis, it will have to be thru venues like The View. I beleive it will take some 'celeb' to step up to the plate (no pun) do the talk show circuit and promote their 'cause.' Maybe we should send this info to CAA and see if they have an 'artist' needing a platform. The MSM is not covering this...its all about our pets...for now. What happens when it hits our food supply (if it already hasn't?)

On another thread yesterday (similar topic) I mentioned how I noticed that apple juice bottles all had (in tiny print) 'concentrate product of China.' Now why is apple juice concentrate imported? We don't grow apples here?

Start reading labels folks...its our only defense.

Kruschev’s probably rolling over in his grave right now thinking that he should have just poisoned us with cheap food instead of wasting all that money on nukes.

Can anyone tell me what is NOT made in China?

I bought a couple of yard rakes the other day. They were made right here in PA!

I love scrapple - everything but the oink - and I do like funnel cake. I dislike shoo-fly pie however.

Isn’t our massive trade with a China pretty much a direct result of the MFN status?

And China’s MFN status is a direct result of Bill Clinton’s ... amazing ... personality.

We may yet not survive the FIRST Clinton presidency.
