I saw someone bought it. All his posts were deleted but it didn’t take too long to figure out what happened. What was it? Retread or troll?

I notice you are always having trouble staying caught up too, metmom. I posted earlier, and when I came back, I was over 1,000 posts behind. The thread was moving so fast, I was having trouble staying caught up. Finally, after mass reading, I am caught up again. It seems many of the liberals are gone, but there are still a few bugs flying around the zapper on occasion, but they haven’t gotten zapped. There has been such a good group on here working to cleaning things up, and I believe FR will be stronger for it and is already. When this thread is over, I plan to move on and work for Hunter and make durn sure that RudyJudy doesn’t get the nod.

But boy I sure would love to see the federal government go under the surgeon’s knife and get rid welfare, the Dept of education, and the IRS.

LOLOL!!!! Just for starters!

One thing that perplexes me is secularists (e.g., Libertarians, et al.) say that you don't need God in order to have a moral base. Considering the universality of the moral law, I wonder what "secular" (finite, contingent, man-made) thing can serve as the basis for moral law.

I'd be willing to entertain all proposals!!!

Probably a troll. All of Hairy Plodder’s posts were deleted. If it were a retread, there would most likely still be some posts of his to read.

It seems that most atheists I've run into like to take the high moral ground and tend to brag that they're as good, or even better, than most religious people. But they do have no basis for morality.

Right now they are riding the tide of the Judeo-Christian morality that this country was founded on. As that is eroding, we are starting to see the consequences of the moral relativism that is replacing it.

I trust you have read The Peace Child? They had their own morality but if they had ever gone beyond the stone age, they would have self-destructed.

It seems to depend on how many posts they’ve posted. If they’re less than a page or all on one thread, then it seems that they get nuked.

*Hairy Plodder* LOL. Every time I read that I can’t help but think it’s an evo retread.

[.. Considering the universality of the moral law, I wonder what "secular" (finite, contingent, man-made) thing can serve as the basis for moral law. ..]

Since government and religion both enforce moral law.. and are two sides of the same coin.. MORALITY MATTERS..

However God does not advocate morality but re-birth..
Not forced legality but regeneration of choice..

To be a little more clear to secular humans..
God puts men in his evolution machine and changes man from primate into another creature..
WHAT A MACHINE.. this is.. An oven that can bake out holyness.. from sinfulness..

Is God COOL or WHAT?..

If you truly studied American History, you’d know the source of WideAwakes.

They were the political shock troops of a new third party, the Republican Party, and were forcefully confronting the central moral question of their day. They facilitated the costly correction of the one glaring failure of the founding generation.

Please, tell us with a straight face that the folks at that other site resemble that. Honestly.

The thing is, moral law is needed for a well ordered safe society. Morality doesn’t get you the rebirth but is the natural outcome of it. But for those who never experience it, there has to be some check to protect people and society.

Given the choice, I’d rather have the Judeo-Christian morality enforced by a moral government, like we had for at least a couple hundred years, than moral relativism. That will only result in anarchy, as everyone does what’s right in his own eyes. That’s what I fear the libertarian movement will lead.

Man! This site is scary! Folks can reach right out and see what you’ve studied!

Other folks here can’t even track back on a string of comments.

After looking in on this seemingly defunct thread throughout the day, can I assume that all is quiet on the leftward front?

I completely agree with your assesment of moral relativism. I find it very dangerous to society as there can be no morals or order except that which is mandated by law, but in a libertarian society there would be hardly any laws. I shudder to think of it.
