I don't support 3rd parties, but I don't support liberal Republicans either.
You act all superior while proving up front that you're a loser. If you take this forum down your path, it leads off a cliff.
You clearly don't get it. Why don't you go bury a bone or something.
Dog Gone is among the best people still here on FR.
I would suggest you put a sock in it.
As a conservative site, Free Republic is pro-God, pro-life, pro-family, pro-Constitution, pro-Bill of Rights, pro-gun, pro-limited government, pro-private property rights, pro-limited taxes, pro-capitalism, pro-national defense, pro-freedom, and-pro America. We oppose all forms of liberalism, socialism, fascism, pacifism, totalitarianism, anarchism, government enforced atheism, abortionism, feminism, homosexualism, racism, wacko environmentalism, judicial activism, etc.
Guess we missed the part:
pro-winning at any cost, without regard to conservative principles
You ain't my Daddy.
$250,000 for consulting fees?
Nice work if you can get it.
And I thank every deity that has ever been worshiped by mankind through all of history for that fact.
"Welcome change" indeed. The RINO/liberal disruptor known as Fair Opinion was completely out of tune with this site, and did everything possible to slime conservatives. Her removal was long overdue.
I will.
Done and done!
Kudos, Charles. I don't always agree with your arguments, but they are, without exeption, cogent and civil.
This type of stridency is unworthy of you. If you think conservative support for a candidate is irrelevant then why should you care if conservatives refuse to support a moderate or third party? If you do think conservative support is relevant, then why support a candidate sure to alienate a significant faction fraction when superior alternatives exist?

"Loser" as defined by whom? Sounds to me like you are losing too seeing as the President is busily assuring GOP demographic suicide despite his self-destructive hispandering. You'll get to join the club unless and until you learn to reciprocate instead of browbeat. Rudy isn't an 80% acceptable candidate, he is barely even 20% and on shaky bases to boot.
I have just wasted 1/2 hour of my time trying to understand if this is a true problem for a Thompson Candidacy.
I am too sick of all the mean comments to continue. I want to scream at each of them! Why can’t they go to private reply and let the rest of us enjoy the site?
Why must we continue to “eat our own”?
You’ll have to show me where in modern politics that supporting a third party provided the desired results for those folks.
Protest votes are for losers. Maybe it makes the voter feel smug, or something, but that’s about the most it can accomplish.
Vote for whomever you want, C_O. If you want to actually make a vote that means jack, vote for the Rats or the GOP.
If Fred's runs , he'd better be Teflon personified.
I don't believe I said that supporting a third party produced desired results.

Indeed they are, which doesn't automatically make them a bad thing. When Arnold was clearly going to beat Angelides, I was free to lodge one because I, as a conservative, was a loser, thanks to the GOP. In support of a third party my vote was then less irrelevant than it would have been had I supported Arnold; indeed, if I had voted for the Grovelnator, he would have had a larger mandate with which to tank the state even further.

When an election is already decided, there is nothing ineffective about lodging support for a third party that better espouses your principles than one of the mainline parties. A bump in support for same indicates unrest that may help work to restrain such destructive behavior on the part of the GOP.
I don’t think this will be a problem for him at all. He seems like the kind of guy who makes sure all the i’s are dotted and the t’s crossed when it comes to his business or political life.
I would tend to agree. In addition, it just does not look good.
Wow. Such an insightful comment is a terrific reason to resurrect a three month old article.
Sorry, if this didn't meet you time posting restraints, or criteria, but they were just discussing this on the news...Thought I'd see anything was posted in this regard and read it.
Sheesh.
If the info is wrong, you may want to delete post # 10 also.
