Summation of Virginia Tech killer's ties to Islam
Various links listed within ^ | 1/19/07 | Dangus

The following are ties Cho had to Islam. They are not offered as proof of anything, but merely to prompt consideration or disproof of any links.

Cho’s father lived in Saudi Arabia as a young, single man. His sister works for a State Department contractor which oversees billions of dollars of aid for Iraq. Previously, she worked in Bangkok. (1)

Both of Cho’s plays are about sexual abuse. (2) Bangkok is a city famous for its sex trade, which caters especially to Muslim businessmen.

Cho’s rampage was on Holocaust Remembrance day. Although probably a happenstance, one of the professors he killed was a Jewish holocaust survivor. (3)

Cho used the pseudonym Ismael Ax. Ismael (or, Ismail) is the son of Abraham who became the ancestor of all Arabs, as opposed to Israel who became ancestor of all Jews (4). Although there are many Western references to this person, and many literary characters named “Ishmael,” that spelling is Hebraic. “Ismael” or “Ismail” is uniquely Arabic. Ismaili is also a branch of Shiite Islam (5)

In each play, Cho’s characters rant about the horrible decadence of American life. Targets include McDonalds, the Roman Catholic church, Michael Jackson and the NFL. (2).

Cho is from Fairfax County, Virginia. This is also the home of 1 in 8 Virginians, but it is also the home of Yong Ki Kwon, a 29-year-old graduate of Virginia Tech, who, like Cho, is also from South Korea. Kwon was convicted of terrorism, one of the so-called “paintball Jihadis,” who practiced massacres with paintball guns. (6)

Give me a 50 word bio of any Freeper and I can come up with 6 ties to Islam which are at least as good as these.

Whether he’s crazy or not, it’s a golden opportunity to point out that islam is fostering this kind of thinking all over the world. To make excuses for him drives me crazy. The left seizes all opportunities like this to demagogue their sheeple.

I do think the Islam connection needs to be investigated

Nothing should be overlooked at this point. I think the will be more and more Muslim terror related shoot-em-ups in this country over the next few years.

I haven’t seen anyone criticizing the rest of his family. Where did you see this?

Also the Koreans don’t like dogs, unless they’re eating them...the Muslims don’t like dogs either. I’m not sure if they eat them...but it’s certainly a suspicious coincidence...

Second paragraph of main article. Thus:

Cho’s father lived in Saudi Arabia as a young, single man. His sister works for a State Department contractor which oversees billions of dollars of aid for Iraq. Previously, she worked in Bangkok. (1)

And links to Bangkok being a center of various evils.

Illegal-immigrant Mexican Muslim with a DU handle and a Rudy '08 sticker on the back of his Prius ... that has all five radio presets tuned to AirAmerica.

You are making assumptions that weren’t written there. Dangus was just suggesting possible sources for what this monster called his “philosophy of life.” Or at least, that’s how I read it. He was exposed to all this “stuff,” and intelligent people should be asking if some or all of it fed into his sick thinking. I do think he (at the very least) watched terrorist videos with great admiration, because these videos are actually quite similar to the suicide bomber type of last video.

It should be obvious to all of us that his family has gone in didfferent directions—mainly because this jerk seems to be the only loser among them.

This is so lame. My son, the Rabbi in Moscow, has more ties to Islam than Cho.

This guy was a classic loner, a social retard. He was completely incapable of the kind of social interactions required to join an Al Qaeda cell, and no self-respecting terrorist cell would accept a member so unstable. Well, of course they are all unstable, but Cho would have been too psychotic even for them.

I sometimes get the idea that some FReepers are hopeful that this guy was a Muslim

That's because they will feel safer if he was a Muslim

Because if he is part of Organised Terrorism, then they can look to a strong leader (President Giluiani?) who will retaliate by being rude to some random raghead, which will deter future attacks.

But if he is an US raised nut, nothing can stop another US raised nut with totally diferent issues, making an attack at any time, anywhere.
