No problems with the police here.

Usually in crimes of passion like that there is very little chance of further violence. It was a reasonable assumption by the police.

Blaming the police for this is stupid. Blaming the administration is not.

I agree. I have worked in law enforcement for over 12 years and what people do not realise is that many officers are not going to do anything because of litigation. You are welcome, many cops are going to do the least they can do from being sued. Welcome to America.

How much do you close down a town when there has been a murder? I suppose it depends on the town and the circumstances. When the FBI agent was shot here in NJ by friendly fire and the bank robber was on the loose, the local college was locked down after a few hours and then closed; reverse 911 called the homes and told people to lock their doors and stay inside; the police went door to door.

In other places; they might not even shut down the city block.

Hindsight remains 20/20. You can’t seriously expect the security police or law enforcement to have done much more than they did.

Uh, I don’t find a single instance of the word “lawyer” in the article. What’s the point of your title?

“PC Campus Police Did Nothing Because of Lawyers”

I am sorry, but can you please explain why your title reads as such? I have read the article a few times, and it makes no mention of “lawyers”..yet it’s in the title of your thread. Did I miss something?

I think that students and faculty should have been notified that a double murder had taken place, and that the killer had not been apprehended. Cancel classes for the day too.

I see nothing at all in the article about lawyer issues, PC or anything of the sort.

Did you see how fat those cops were? They couldn’t run down a one-legged whatever. They were pathetic.

Why should they worry, Ta Tech was a “Gun Free” campus. Libs believe words make a difference.

Pray for W and Va Tech

It was reported by Mark Levin that the reason why not alert was given after the first shooting is that the police had a suspect in custody and they were interviewing him. The police thought they had their man. When the second spree started, they new the perp was still at large.

OK folks, give the cops a break.

One thing that is fairly consistent with these school shootings over the past several years is that they are confusing, brutal, deadly and there isn't a whole helluva lot we can do to stop them. If a psycho is determined to go into a crowded area and kill, he will.

The only thing that can stop him when he starts is somebody killing him with a HANDGUN, and that my friends is the solution.

Have armed personnel in the schools and armed students in the colleges.

I'm not apt to blame the police too quickly. Rather, I blame the political climate in which the school was designated a "gun-free zone". As a gun-free zone, it left the students and faculty totally defenseless against any significant agression.

Every citizen has the right to self-defense, but the left-wing weasels took away the means for the students to defend themselves. That is the problem.

“Why did they think the assailant might have left the campus after those initial shootings?”

Because he actually had left the campus?

Remember - he went off to mail his videos to NBC.
