The entire nation will now collectively mourn one of the great tragedies one can endure: the death of so many of our children.
But a detailed analysis of the facts will also be ongoing. There are many questions from all observers.
It just seems to me, when law enforcement finds two dead bodies on a sleepy university campus in the 7 A.M. hour: they immediately should slam the Red Alert button. Yesterday there were some lame remarks about getting out an email (two hours late) and that there wasnt time to get the word to both lock down the campus and stop the influx of tens of thousands of commuters.
They dont have radio and TV in Blacksburg, Virginia? If at 7 A.M. a tornado was announced heading for that campus, what would have happen? How about a snowstorm? We had high winds in Washington D.C. this week and the schools were closed three hours early. It was on every radio and TV station in seconds. With that huge force of law enforcement, a good police commander could have closed every road into that campus in no time.
They got radios, cars and flashing lights, dont they?
Did anyone notice that a bunch of those law enforcement offers were, ahem, chubby?
Law enforcement at Virginia Tech didnt save one life. They didnt waste one bullet doing it either. Somebody should be ashamed: law enforcement didnt fire a shot. The only shooter on that campus got tired after all the mayhem he made.
If my kids name was killed in the classroom after 9 A.M. I am one angry parent.
When is the last time law enforcement found two dead students, murdered students, on that campus during the 7 A.M. hour?

I'm not willing to blame other people for the insanity of one man. Maybe something could have been done to prevent this, but maybe not. It's hardly the right time to be throwing blame at everyone. You can reassess this thing in a few months. But right now everyone wants to blame the cops, the university, the president of the university and everyone but the shooter.
The blood on the ground hasn't dried and people want to see other people's heads roll. Maybe people should just shut up.
They are part of the problem. They created conditions that enabled this nutball to kill people.
Rational and moral people take actions to keep honest people honest and the criminals out.
It makes me sick; I couldn't even post on FR yesterday because of it; the bodies weren't even cold before our "experts" were ragging on everybody EXCEPT the shooter.
Yes, they assumed. They had to because they had only what had already happened to go by. They obviously could not use hindsight at that point.
Let’s put the blame where it belongs — on the shooter(s).
They should have used the Amber Alert System to notify the 16,000 commuter students not to come to the campus. Campus security should have secured the dorms as well. I’m also guessing the shooter was well aware that he would face no armed resistance due the the much publicized bill banning employees and students from keeping their legal guns on campus.
“Tell me why I don’t like Mondays”.
You tell them, not me, what a great job they did. I simply disagree with their beliefs.
Yes, domestic violence assumption did get many more young people killed. That’s a horrible price to pay for an anti-family policy. But feminists and other left/liberal people will hate you for talking publicly about it.
...the domestic violence assumption, even.
Don’t ridicule these cops they did everything they could. Plus if you have ever been in college do you know how many college students actually wake up before or after 7 am? The majority of them probably had not even woke up before 9 am or 10 am. I used to live in a dorm on my college campus and every morning things didn’t start going on until after 9 am just about every morning.
How long do these tests take?
Should they hit the "Red Alert" button before, or after these tests yield results?
I’m still inclined to hold the shooter responsible for what happened. This article illustrates how litigious and void of any logic our society has become, especially in the media.

CHILDREN? This article lost me with that comment. Usual MSM twisting the facts.
I don't have the information, but I would like to know if a shooting victim was EVER found on a college campus and they put out alerts and locked down the entire university.
Sounds like my daughters college campus hours,
graduated last year, University of Albany.
I made sure to check out the officer on duty at my son's middle school this morning. And he was armed.
It is relevant to my criticism of this insipid, and insulting article.
nasmuch as I’m a Virginia taxpayer, with a kid in a Virginia university, and an Infantry veteran, I’m sure I’m paying for this, having my family put at risk by the jerkoffs who run the university systems in this state, and that that I know something about setting up a perimeter and defending it.
It’s really not necessary for me to run the world to figure out how to start kicking some a$$ and taking names eh.
