So far the two press conferences were uninformative except for admissions they thought he had left the bldg. Well, he was a killer on the loose then by their own admission.
I’m thinking the “person of interest” is a former or jilted boyfriend of the girl victim in the dorm. So, he is of interest. He’s cooperating. Probably doesn’t have anything to do with this. But it is understandable that police would want to investigate him.
I recall that scene. "I'm Agent Johnson, this is Special Agent Johnson. No relation. "

She is a mechanical engineering major who was one of only four people to walk out of her classroom; she estimated 25 students were unconscious or dead. When the shooter left the room (having returned once already) they tried to hold the door shut and he shot through it but didn’t get back in.
I believe the Tim Kaine Eyebrow Security Alert system will be at “elevated” until he returns.

I agree. I know some of the folks who were at Virginia Tech responding to this situation in one way or another. They are all good people. Every bit of the response will be gone over in detail in the coming weeks and it may well turn out that in hindsight, different decisions should have been made. But a tragedy of this sort and magnitude had never occured on any US college campus before. The closest thing I can think of is a someone that went on a shooting rampage at the University of Toronto a number of years ago.
We want to be angry at someone, but our anger should be directed at the evil deeds of (apparently) one young man, not at the inability of hardworking men and women to perfectly foresee those evil deeds.
The LE says the body’s too messed up to visually ID. I think it’s safe to say you can’t make yourself unrecognizable with one self inflicted hand gun shot. I heard the loud boom also. We can assume the worst.
Total ban of guns plus ban on all metal/iron, gun powder of course, any device shaped like a cylinder in case some air gun could be manufactured, etc...
And CNN, don’t forget sharp objects, that can do some damage too.
What in the world could this mean?? A Chinese man here for less than a year. Was he on a mission or what?

Boy B is person of interest, could help identify Boy A who fled after shooting.

he’s probably some whacked out chinese student, who served time and got weapons training in the chinese military.
Probably trying to avoid the 'All shooting all the time' label, or 'FNC keeping the fear factor going'. If they only report on that, they get bashed, if they talk about other things they get bashed. They can't win. /sarcasm

Where is this Virginia school closure info coming from? VA schools are closed on a county-by-county basis as far as I know. No info on closure on http://www.schoolsout.com/view/school/55 for our county.
